D'Addario Prelude Violin String Set, 1/2 Scale, Medium Tension

Arrived very quickly. I am a violin teacher and try to find the best string for a reasonable price and heard these strings played on a 4/4 violin in the symphony and was very impressed with the sound and price, so thought I would give these strings a try on a 1/2 size fiddle and found that they had a nice warm sound. Tiny violins have a difficult time sounding sweet, but I was pleased with these and highly recommend them.

I restrung a violin with these and it sounds great. Just make sure you don't tighten even a half a peg rotation too much, as the string will snap.

I have bought a couple of sets of this strings for my son and daughter. These strings are of good quality for the price and they are good for beginner/intermediate violin players. The delivery service is terrific. For the price, you can't go wrong.

For the price, these are great strings. We have been using them for 3 months and none have broken. The sound is fine.

I use these on my student violins, upgrading from the stock string because they sound very nice and last so much longer. They seem to stay in tune once broken in as well.

My son plays a 1/2 size violin, and Amazon was the only place I can find affordable 1/2 size strings. All other stores only had full size. Overall, a great option available from Amazon.

Normally, we don't want steel strings because we think they will be twangy. These are not. In fact I find them warmer in tone than many synthetic brands. They never go out of tune and have a fast response and warm smooth tone.

overall great strings but Pirastro Tonica performed better on our violin. not to take away from these great strings simply to clarify some violins sound better with a particular type versus another.

Excellent strings, super fast delivery.

These strings are impossible to keep in tune, they make weird ping noises when fingers are lifted off the string, they sound dull even when brand new, they make whispery sounds if not hit just right with the bow, and they quickly go from dull to dead. Total garbage.
