Will these patterns fit a small size?

Yes, I am a small person, and I made design B in size 6. It fit just right and looks really nice. I did make a rookie mistake of using calico cotton material, and I should have used a more stretchy knit material.

does this work for polyester?

This is what is on the pattern: Suggested fabrics: Gingham, Laundered Cottons, Silks and Silk Types, Crepe Back Satin, Laundered Silks-Rayons, Sandwashed Silk, Sueded Silks/Rayons and Silk Linen; not suitable for obvious diagonals; for pile, shaded or 1-way design fabrics
