Brace On AFO S-Type Drop Foot Stabilizer Brace, Women's Left

I got this brace to help with drop foot and ankle instability that has been affecting my gait and causing pain. it seems to be (nearly) perfect for me! While I absolutely love the top, padded strap because of how comfortable it is, I found the bottom strap to be nearly useless for me as it didn't hold the brace properly on my foot and dug in awkwardly. Instead, I bought Jocyi brand compression wraps to replace the strap with. I removed the original strap and left the Velcro dot on, and that's where I start the compression wrap. I wrap it around the ankle and part of the foot and foot plate of the brace and it holds the brace perfectly and comfortably in place. I also bought a very thin, adhesive insole to place on the footplate to stop my foot from sliding. Honestly, for the price range, this is not a bad option at all, especially after minor cheap modifications. recommend to those on a budget for sure.

Excellent and beneficial

I really wanted these braces to work, but ultimately, they were not a good fit for me. I suffer from drop foot in both feet as I recover from a head injury. I read some other reviewers’ comments who advised these were helpful for this ailment, so I was hopeful when I ordered them. As I have drop foot in both feet, I ordered two of these braces. Although they arrived within a few days of each other, I knew they wouldn’t work for me immediately. First, they really don’t offer any ankle support, which is where I really need it. Second, the women’s version was too small. The foot plate was far too short (I’m a women’s size 10), and the plastic area where you place your heel was far too narrow for comfort. I have very narrow feet, so I see these being too small for anyone with normal feet. If I were to purchase these again, I would definitely recommend the men’s iteration. They can be trimmed down to size if too large/long in the foot plate area. The top strap is nice, but the strap above your foot really doesn’t do anything as far as support. Hopefully these work for your needs, but they were of no help for my dual drop foot.

This is the sixth ago I’ve tried. The best so far, not great, but okay. Minimal edema after six hours of wear. Fit is not bad.

This brace has changed my life! I have severe drop foot that causes difficulty with balance. Walking was a chore. I’m much more stable and confident and able to walk longer. I sized up a 1/2 size in shoes but it fits nicely in my shoes, is easy to get on, and most importantly comfortable. I wear it whenever I’m moving around, even in the house! It has increased my independence. I haven’t had a fall since I started wearing it.

Wanted to return this item but my house got flooded and I missed my opportunity to return it. It does not help foot drop the bottom isn’t rigid enough to support the weight of your foot.

I had, still kinda have, foot drop due to neuropathy and having my legs crossed while sitting for over 4 hours. I got this hoping it’d help. It did while wearing slip on slippers. But trying to wear it with any kind of shoe caused more pain and numbness. Put too much pressure on my shin. Even loosened, which didn’t help with the foot drop n walking, it hurt.

Great item for its use . Adjustable shoe size and support is great
