Lies Young Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets Them Free

WOW! Bravo! (Applause here). This is it. This is the literature my husband and I have been seeking. We have been struggling with the world and the effects it has taken on our daughter. I haven’t finished reviewing the entire book but the touch points and issues of today being confronted and addressed in a Christian light. I can’t wait to put this to work with our daughter. I truly feel this will be a great starting point for us in the tough topics we are now facing. I also bought the study guide. I highly recommend getting that also. Best of Luck, Christian parents!

Great book for teen girls

This entire series is amazing. I wish every young women would read this book. It is written with such wisdom and grace. I can't recommend this book enough!

I really appreciate this book for teens. Nancy and Dannah are offering pearls of wisdom and powerful, life-changing truth for young women. I read some of the negative reviews about one or he stories involving abuse and meth. I never read any story like this in the updated version of the book. I believe Amazon should remove these reviews if they are reviews of the older edition. If you are buying for a 13-14 year old, read it first as Nancy and Dannah suggest (some of the discussion about sex is frank but necessary). I bought this for a graduation gift for a senior. I am a 34-year-old mom and former public high school teacher. I believe God is using and will use this book and its Biblica truth to change the loves of many young women.

I bought this book for my 14 year old daughter but I wanted to read it first. This book is amazing and I can’t wait for my daughter to read it. Our world is throwing so many lies at our kids and this book really helps them walk through a lot of things they may be deceived by. I would recommend this book to girls from 6th but probably 7th grade up. Even as an adult I loved this book. I wish kids were not exposed to so much worldly things but they are and at such a young age. I will add an update after she reads it with her review of the book.

This book addresses issues young girls are dealing with today. It is written to a specific demographic group, and I think it hit the target. In my opinion, it is worth the read. The book addresses several issues young girls deal with today, and it does it with the use of Scripture. The book starts out with lies, refutes them with Scripture verses, and ends with truth from the Bible to replace the lies of the world. A word of caution: As addressed in a few other reviews of this book, it does cover subjects of a sensitive nature. I would not be comfortable handing this book to a young girl and telling her to read it. I would recommend reading it with a young person and doing so with the permission of a parent or reading it as a parent with my child. If I were reading it with a young person who attends public school (and is exposed to this subject matter on a daily basis), I think 14 might be an appropriate age. If I were reading it with a young person who is home schooled or attends Christian school, I think 16 might be a more appropriate age. If you are looking for a book that will allow you to discuss, from a Biblical standpoint, some tough cultural issues with the young women in your lives, then this is your book.

This is truly one of the best books on earth. I bought it for my soon-to-be high school daughter, but read through it first because some of the reviews said their were age-inappropriate parts of the book (regarding sex), and I will honestly tell you- there is nothing inappropriate about this book. I honestly think all middle school girls should have a copy, as well as college age ladies, and even women well into their twenties and early thirties, because it’s loaded with things every woman could hear or be reminded of during every decade of life. Seriously, buy this book! Even my daughter thinks all girls her age need it (she’s 14).

I WISH I had read this book in my teen years!!! Moms of teens (13-18) PLEASE read this and do the study guide WITH your girl! Aunties, Grandmas, and any woman who influences the life of a teen READ THIS BOOK! It explains the difference between Lies and Truth. It exposes Satan's lies that many teens believe and it give Biblical Truth to combat the lies. The stories in the book help illustrate why these lies are so damaging and the FREEDOM that can come with living in the TRUTH of God's word - the Bible. At the end of each chapter is a summary of the lies and scripture to combat the lie. At the end of the book is a pull out of all 25 lies and the truth to combat it. As a parent you can go back and revisit specific info you need to help your teen through some very tough years. I have an 8 year old girl and I'm so glad I read this now! I feel like I have a tool to use to help her combat some of the pre-teen friend issues and lies she is starting to believe. It is easy to read, but Biblically strong. A must have resource for every person who has a teen girl in their life!

This much awaited book has been published following Nancy Leigh DeMoss's excellent book 'Lies Women Believe and the Truth that sets them free'. This version is specifically for girls aged 13-19 and addresses 25 issues that all teenage girls face such as:'Beautiful girls are worth more';'It's OK to be one person at home and a different person with others...especially online';'I can't overcome my sin'; 'What I do now doesn't affect my future' and 'God is not really involved in my life'. These lies are countered from the Bible and we learn such truths as: 'God loves me and wants me to have His best';'I am fearfully and wonderfully made';'I am responsible before God for my behaviour, responses and choices';'My choices today will affect my future'. Buy it, read it and give it to teen girls you know!

Well written book.

I really like this book. It gives you the facts without scaring you or leaving you with wanting more information. Its fantastic in knowing the lies we are being brainwashed, and how we can believe the truth. 10/10.

Brilliant book for young girls. In fact I've had to buy a couple of extras because everyone wants to borrow it.
