IKEA LÄMPLIG Chopping board, 46X53 CM Solid Beech Wood

It’s a lovely big chopping board but it is bent, which means it wobbles when being used. When you add to that it requires ‘oiling’ before being used, to protect it, I wondered whether it would be less fuss (and less annoying) to make the chopping board myself.

This chopping board would be great if it was solid beech as advertised but when it arrived it was bamboo. The label says beech but definitely bamboo so am returning item .Other wise a great size.

I bought this chopping board because it was the size I needed to cover my cooker top or my kitchen sink. My kitchen is very small and I needed extra area to work on. This board does the job but it has to be noted that it is a very heavy item. It is quite sturdy though. I forgot to order the wood oil at the same time which it will need to care for it properly.

This is the same bamboo chopping board sold directly by Ikea not the solid beech one they used to sell, which was how it is advertised. It's a good enough chopping board but not the one I wanted.

It is a very robuste piece of kitchen working surface. I use it for working my bread dough and I am very happy with it.
