Coal Tar Soap

Very nice soap at a good price. No more stinging from vicious soaps! For anyone who is concerned about it, there is a smell of the coal tar, but it is gone in minutes.

One whiff of this and the coal tar scent reminded me of school soap in the 70's. It won't be to everyone's taste and it really does project the scent when using or sitting idle. I actually like it and it feels like a really clean scent. It is just coal tar fragrance now as coal tar was removed from all off the shelf soaps a while back. As for the soap, great stuff at this price. I swim and sauna most says and use this afterwards and it lathers up really well, does not go into a mush in a soap bag , and I feel very clean for the rest of the day. My skin also feels really nice afterwards.

Is it good soap that cuts through oils and grease? Yes, very much so. Does it lather up well? It does. Do you feel clean after using it? You do indeed. Does it smell? OH, it PONGS - even with a ceiled tub to put it in in between uses, your place ( not jsut bathroom, but attached rooms to your bathroom ) will smell strongly of some kind of pot-pouri mixed with what i can only describe as..horse stables?? It's a nice strong smell when using it - but that lingering smell is really not what you want.

The soap lathers well, soft and smooth on the skin ......... BUT only if you can stand the really strong Coal Tar smell. When it was CoalTar Soap it was a bit "pungent" This soap with artificial Coal Tar smell is too much for me, makes bathroom, bedroom and hallway all smell of it. Now the bin ......

I bought it mainly out of nostalgia for the smell. It is a smell that reminds me of my childhood, and I was not disappointed. It does have a soft feel to it when washing your hands which is what I use it for. I love the smell, but my youngest grandson doesn't, but I expect he will get used to it.

Smells great....feeling clean and fresh...good quality soap

This soap definitely does what it’s meant to do and leaves skin feeling really clean. That said, the smell is strong and very old school. Honestly it makes you smell like you just walked out of a shoe maker’s workshop. Not unpleasant, just very distinctive. It’s clearly a classic for a reason! The smell is very unique. Great cleansing power and long lasting, but the scent might not be for everyone. I’ll keep using it, just maybe not right before heading out.
