HQ VHS-C Video Cassette Adaptor - NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 8mm/MiniDV/Hi8 Tapes !

I had purchased and returned two other VHSc adapters that failed either right out of the box or upon inserting the cassette into the player. Those two products appeared at first use to be cheaply made, and also seemed to be of the same maker, despite different brand names. This adapter was more costly, but was obviously a much better-made product than the two that failed. The body appears more substantial and the mechanical operation is very smooth. I inserted my VHSc cartridges that had sat idle for many years, and they played without issues. Spend a bit more and avoid the aggravation and frustration of having to deal with an inferior product.

I had originally ordered a competitor product that was rated as high. But when it arrived the packaging was sparse at best and as soon as I picked it up I heard something rattling around. I decided to try it in case. I followed the instructions and when placed into my VCR it immediately ate the tape ruining it beyond repair. So this one was the next highest rated. It came with no rattling sounds and has been working like a champ. Restored my faith in these converters. I'm now looking forward to continuing to convert great family memories from tape to digital for preservation.

To be honest, there was nothing to dislike. I have had some VHS-C tapes in the garage for over a decade. I lost my adapter many, many years ago. I decided to try this out. Reviews didn't seem to bad. Within an hour of receiving, I put in one of my tapes to see how it would work after putting in the required "AA" battery. It worked perfectly. I couldn't believe I was looking at some videos from 15 years ago when my kids were small. I was so happy I was able to save these. Last night I went through approximately 10 VHS-C tapes to see what was on them. (forgot to label them years ago). Not once did the adapter become faulty or mess any of my tapes up. Very, very pleased. I am so glad I bought it.

I tried the same adapter from another Amazon vendor and returned it. It was a cheap plastic, the video jumped around, the sound was garbled. Thought I'd try this one, not knowing it was the same brand. However, this one was a thicker plastic, heavier adapter, that worked well immediately. The tape still jumps a little, but nothing like the first one I purchased. I bought this to digitize all my VHS-C tapes with the help of an Elgato Video Capture device that hooks my VCR to my laptop and records the tapes as MP4's. I have digitized a few wonderful memories using this product.

Warning to anyone interested in ordering this item. Be 100% sure you know this item as advertised. If, for some reason, you are looking for an adapter that works for any other type of tape or you are not completely certain this adapter is correct, DO NOT BUY!!! I bought this because I stumbled on some really old family videos and wanted to transfer the old tapes to digital. I have a vcr / DVD combo player , just need the adapter for the old tapes. When I received the adapter, I realized it did not work with my tapes.It was for vhs-c tapes. I did not know there were other mini tapes. I figured just return the item as I have done with Amazon several times with no problems. WRONG! Things went smooth communicating with seller. When I got the label in my email, there was no return shipping covered. When I contacted the seller about this issue, they told me I bought the item as advertised and I should have known what I was buying. So now I take a trip to the post office to see my cost to ship it back. This item is from Great Britain. Needless to say, shipping from NC to Great Britain was more than the item cost. It would cost $50.50 cheapest shipping possible ! I truly believe sellers like this should be thoroughly observed for their protocols and be required to have standards that are consistent with Amazon's protocols if they are going to use Amazon as a primary source for sales. This is a $30 loss for me and a valuable lesson.

Works but needs a AA battery (not included) to emulate the tape loading mechanism of a standard sized VHS cassette.

The unit performs as expected though it is quite fragile. Sent the first one back as it broke after one tape. Second survived five tapes but would not recommend for multiple or long term usage

Gesucht war: VHS-C Adapter zu digitalisieren der alten Bänder (35 Stk. 45min Kassetten) Inhalt waren Amateur-Drehs aus der Familiengeschichte. War nach diversen Meinungen im Net sehr skeptisch und habe mir nach einigem zögern den Adapter für unter 20 € dann doch zugelegt. Das Produkt hat mich sehr positiv überrascht.Engegen dem Eindruck, den man durch das Foto erlangt, ist das Gerät sehr massiv ausgeführt. -Das Gehäuse überwiegend aus Metall, welches absolut verwindungssteif ist. -Die Passungen sind sehr gut, nichts klappert. Die Maße des Geräts sind optimal einer VHS-Kassette nachempfunden. Nichts spießt oder wackelt im Recorder. -Die Band-Spann-Mechanik ist recht präzise und arbeitete immer klaglos. Das Band läuft mittig und unter nicht zu staffer und nicht zu lockerer Spannung. -Das wechseln der VHS-C Kassetten funktioniert schnell und problemlos. Sehr gut, mehr kann man wirklich nicht erwarten. Der Adapter dreht nun im weiteren Bekanntenkreis die Runde. Kurzum: Ein teureres Gerät wäre überflüssig, die 20 € für den Adapter (den man nach getaner Arbeit ohnehin meist nicht mehr braucht) sind absolut richtig investiert. Nur zu empfehlen.

Nickel ! J'appréhendais avec les avis que j'avais lu et vu précédemment. Et finalement tout s'est bien passé. J'ai vu et revu mes K7 sans aucun problème. Et je suis bien contente d'avoir pu revoir de vieux souvenirs...

If you take the time to read the description, this item will work as described. Used only once so far and have had no issues. A hassle free option for grandparents. just pop the camcorder casket into the VHS, put into the VCR and you're able to watch!! Highly recommend!
