## Description

CT Sounds engineered the MESO65-4 6.5” midrange pro audio speaker to have all the benefits of the DJ style pro audio woofers for use in a car audio environment. After an extensive R&D process, we finalized a design that features a custom tooled basket (no other brand in the world utilizes this basket) which gave us the ability to engineer a speaker that can handle more power and play louder than other midrange speakers in its class. The custom tooled basket gave us the ability to fit a longer voice coil allowing the loudspeaker to take on more power and still move efficiently. Furthermore, this basket design effectively allows the spider to be positioned higher inside the basket preventing the spider and lead wire from hitting the front plate at higher power levels. Lastly, the motor design consists of a 33 oz ferrite magnet (Y35 grade) and an 8 mm T-Yoke which maximizes the power capabilities of the magnet. Another feature that sets this speaker apart from the competition is the copper clad aluminum (CCAW) voice coil. CCAW performs better than copper voice coils at middle to high frequencies. It is also lighter than copper wire, therefore, allowing this midrange speaker to have a higher sensitivity and be louder than copper wire at certain frequencies. Conservatively rated at 250 Watts RMS, this speaker will wake up the neighborhood!

Review: Impressive speakers!! - So I did about 3 weeks or so of researching various 6.5 inch speakers. There is a lot of them out there. And with so many variables,it's not an easy task to pick which ones to buy. Decisions,decisions! I've been involved with car audio for a long time and I've had some decent systems I vehicles I've owned,most being used stuff from friends or stuff I've purchased. But this is the first time I've decided to start with everything brand new and to keep it exciting I'm trying to build a system and keep it under $800. I know,I know it can be done,and some say it can't. I was down to two choices for the 6.5 speakers,C.T. Sounds and DS18. My friend has some DS18's in his Tahoe, and they are pretty damn loud. I went with CT Sounds so we could compare sound and because for under a hundred bucks it was a good deal. Well it turned out to be a SMOKIN DEAL!!!. They arrived early,packaging was phenomenal and when I picked up the box I knew that I made a great decision. They were heavy so I knew i wasn't getting cheap made speakers. I pulled them out of their individual boxes and was stoked to see how big the magnets were and that the quality was outstanding. Nothing cheap here. I installed them in about 30 mins and when I turned on the deck and put power to em,HOLY LOUD AS HELL BATMAN!!! These speakers are loud and the sound quality is clear and precise. Exactly what I was looking for. When compared to the DS18's my friend has,it was close but I think the CT's are louder and I only threw 150 watts at em. We are going to do another comparison this weekend with full installation and full RMS thrown at em. I'll update in about a week as to how that goes. For me,my budget and the sound I want and a quality product,CT Sounds is a pretty good decision. And they came with CT Sounds stickers!!! Pretty nice!

So I did about 3 weeks or so of researching various 6.5 inch speakers. There is a lot of them out there. And with so many variables,it's not an easy task to pick which ones to buy. Decisions,decisions! I've been involved with car audio for a long time and I've had some decent systems I vehicles I've owned,most being used stuff from friends or stuff I've purchased. But this is the first time I've decided to start with everything brand new and to keep it exciting I'm trying to build a system and keep it under $800. I know,I know it can be done,and some say it can't. I was down to two choices for the 6.5 speakers,C.T. Sounds and DS18. My friend has some DS18's in his Tahoe, and they are pretty damn loud. I went with CT Sounds so we could compare sound and because for under a hundred bucks it was a good deal. Well it turned out to be a SMOKIN DEAL!!!. They arrived early,packaging was phenomenal and when I picked up the box I knew that I made a great decision. They were heavy so I knew i wasn't getting cheap made speakers. I pulled them out of their individual boxes and was stoked to see how big the magnets were and that the quality was outstanding. Nothing cheap here. I installed them in about 30 mins and when I turned on the deck and put power to em,HOLY LOUD AS HELL BATMAN!!! These speakers are loud and the sound quality is clear and precise. Exactly what I was looking for. When compared to the DS18's my friend has,it was close but I think the CT's are louder and I only threw 150 watts at em. We are going to do another comparison this weekend with full installation and full RMS thrown at em. I'll update in about a week as to how that goes. For me,my budget and the sound I want and a quality product,CT Sounds is a pretty good decision. And they came with CT Sounds stickers!!! Pretty nice!
