Brilliant book! Just starting out as a dog groomer and think it will be a really important guide for me! It doesn't cover mixed breeds but still good for breed standards and covers a lot of other information e.g. equipment, drying techniques, different coats etc. Would recommend!

I must for anyone wanting to know more about skin and fur or is studying to be a groomer

I operate in Western Europe, and here they say one clips the dogs far less than in the States. However, the book explains very clearly that one has a choice between one technique or the other. The truth is that most dog owners prefer to have their dogs clipped with the electrical clippers than hand-stripped. Still, in Europe this tradition still exists and this is what we're learning at school. The book is very clear and easy to use, a real must have for a professional groomer. one can adapt to the client's requirements and still do a very good job, with the help of this book. I love reading through it even if I dont have to groom a certain breed, it is also very good for self-study. definitely the book to have if you're grooming dogs!

This book is so detailed and thorough and helps you to know how to EXACTLY groom to breed standard. This is a MUST HAVE for any dog groomer!

I personally think this book is great, but a little overrated. There’s a lot of repetitive information and nothing for the popular mixed breeds which are seen in the salon. Otherwise, a very good book

I was a bit sceptical when I had read reviews that the first volume of the book was missing. But I contacted the seller who assured me that both volumes would be sent out. I received the whole book intact and in extremely quick delivery time. Very interesting book full of useful information and illustrations. Would definitely recommend.

I don't know what people's beef was with these books. I got both volumes. Everything was in the package. Whatever people will complain. Anyway, this is a great set of books for any dog groomer, it's a comprehensive guide that will walk you through step by step from prep work to bathing to the actual cut itself. I recommend it to any Dog groomer whether they're just starting out or looking to brush up. This one and "Theory of 5" are great books, however, in my opinion, notes from The grooming table is the best choice if you are only looking to get one. Not only does this book go into the cuts, but explains the seven AKC breed types as well as functionality of cuts.

Why was only half the book sent? Wasn’t there supposed to be 640 pages? It starts from page 283. Where are pages 1 to 282?! This sucks, I was really looking forward to receiving it. What a disappointment!

I couldn't tell you if the book is good as I never received the entire book.
