Wild River Nomad by CLC Custom LeatherCraft Tackle Tek Nomad XP Lighted Backpack with USB Charging System

I had been on the fence with this backpack for a long time, and finally pulled the trigger. I do an equal amount of boat fishing, and walking to my fishing spots, so a backpack fit the bill. There's tons of great features, and some issues I'd like to address. 1) Nice construction. Everything works perfectly. The materials seem sturdy. However it is single-stitched. For what the bag is designed to carry, it should really be double-stitched. 2) Great aesthetics. You can't deny it. It's a good looking pack compared to others on the market. 3) It's comfortable. You can carry this thing for a while without it bothering you. It could use more lumbar support, but it's currently very adequate. 4) Just the right amount of room. I'm currently using four Plano 3600s and two Plano 3500s for hard tackle. I also have ~10 packages of brush hog's, an extra spool of line, weight scale, sunglasses (the sunglass pouch is a great added feature!), and the included portable charger and accessories. Outside I have pliers in the included holster, line nippers, and a flashlight mounted opposite of the pliers holster. The best part? I still have room in the main compartment for drinks and snacks, room in the charger pouch, and a completely unused side pocket for any extras I may take (If you have a CCW license, note that a S&W Shield fits perfectly in this pocket, along with a few extra mags). There's also a nice clear, waterproof pocket in the main compartment flap. I store an extra copy of my fishing license in there. Now, addressing a few issues I've seen mentioned. 1) "It falls over a lot" - No. I've yet to experience this. The XP has an extra foot on the bottom. They're quite sturdy. If you balance the payload inside, you should have no issue with it falling over. 2) "There's no charging adapter for the battery" - Yes and no. If you get the solar panel, that may be your main means of charging the battery. However, in the supplied accessory packet, there is a plug that fits the battery along with the supplied cable. I simply plug that cable into my iPhone wall charger or PC USB port to charge it. 3) "The light doesn't work" -Unconfirmed. Mine still works, no melting. Time will answer this one. I'll update the review if the battery compartment melts. Overall, it's a great bag. The only thing that I wish were better is the stitching. I definitely do not regret this purchase. **EDIT** Update after 4 years. This thing still rocks! Looks like it did the day I bought it, and I assure you that it gets used A LOT. This backpack was definitely a great investment.

I absolutely love this tool backpack! It's well-designed, sturdy, and has plenty of compartments for organizing tools efficiently. The material is durable, and the padded shoulder straps make it comfortable to carry even when fully loaded. The zippers are strong, and the overall construction feels premium. Really well made backpack. Has heavy duty handles and straps for added support. Also has the chest strap support for a heavy backpack. The only complaint i have, are the zippers. They are heavy duty and large zippers, but a couple times they didn't always "grab" the correct teeth that they were supposed to. Easily fixed by unzipping and then re-zipping, but could cause the zipper to separate if you were walking around with it on. Pros: Heavy Duty - Large in size - Waterproof cover - Lots of pockets Cons: Zipper Overall I highly recommend the backpack and the zipper is definitely not a deal breaker.

Fast shipping such a nice backpack you can tell it’s very well made. The compartments have so many and just the right amount to carry things you need. I have a feeling my husband is going to love this.

I have taken this out several times now. Holds all my gear. The light works well at night. Can't speak on battery life for the light yet as I have only used it once at night. The only two cons I have with the bag is, the shoulder straps are a little thin. They could use a little more padding, but they are not horrible. The second is I wish there was a rod holder or two incorporated on the sides of the bag. Otherwise, I have been enjoying the backpack so far. Zippers and seams seem to be holding up well so far.

Love it. Lots of room. Heavier duty than my Pacifun (which I also love) I use this one for my ocean gear. Worth the extra money. Treat yourself.

I'm using this as a portable field station for testing robots. It's perfect; it can carry the tools, provide power for USB devices, recharge phones, etc. It's also very durable and the orange interior makes it much easier to see what's in the bottom of the bag. It's a win!

This Backpack is awesome! Very roomy with plenty of space for your tackle. Charging option comes in VERY handy when you are out and need a boost for your phone or GoPro. Very sturdy! I would DEFINITELY recommend it!
