Good all round player/burner.
Good solid construction, burn rate acceptable but not super fast. Plug and play worked fine on my Windows laptop but as yet haven't tried it on my MacBook pro. Sadly it does not come with software so that came as an additional cost. Once I had downloaded some software found the player easy to use but that ease was of course courtesy of the software. The additional slots for usb, cards etc might be useful but have as yet to use them. Fairly good value for money I feel.

Good product
This is a great CD drive as my new little laptop didn’t have one and I’m always used to having a CD drive on my laptop. It’s lightweight and easy to carry around. Doesn’t take up much room to pack away. Works really well with my computer and easy to connect the speed is good durability and USB connectivity very portable and hardly any noise.

Some of us still have DVD/CDs with programs we continue to use
One problem with the latest slim-lined, ultra-wafer-like paper-thin computers is that there is no room for a CD drive. SO, how do we read our DVDs? This unit has additional ports built in. Brilliant idea, a must for all the trendy slim-lined tablet users. Sometimes, development and miniaturisation systems don't keep up with the real world of existing programmes and software we continue to live with.

Too slow...
I purchased this BUNUD External Blu-Ray Writer Drive to replace my older well know brand External Blu-Ray Writer Drive (a brand that also makes PC motherboards). My older drive does not seem to be recognised by the new Windows 11 24H2 update, so had to temporarily roll back to Windows 10, which I used for this test. This BUNUD drive was about the same size as my older drive, but was 2-3 times its weight, so it felt good quality feel. The drive was also quiet in operation and said to be Windows 11 compatible. Unfortunately this BUNUD drive was just too SLOW when backing up a Blu-Ray movie disc. In fact my older drive backed up my Blu-Ray movie disc in "1 hour" but "23 hours" was the given completion time for the BUNUD drive. This was odd as both drives were showing as 2X read speed. I certainly was not prepared to wait "23 hours" so I had no option other than to return the BUNUD drive. So based on my testing, I cannot recommend this BUNUD drive at all. In fact, I now feel that these cheaper unknown brands are just not worth the risk. A well known brand is the best option, even if you pay a little more.

Plug and play external dvd
Having a library of DVDs this addition to my new laptop has proved a great purchase. Plug and play, and off you go.

Works with MacBook Air once Blu-Ray Player software installed
TL:DR - a bit faffy setting up with a Mac but it will get there in the end. I found this a bit tempermental to begin with - my first few attempts at playing a Blu-Ray amounted to a lot of whirring but no sign of the disc showing up anywhere on the desktop. Restarting the laptop, and then alternating between having the drive connected to power and not, the Blu-Ray eventually showed up but I was initially still unable to play it. Based on asking a question and reading other reviews, my understanding was that with a Mac product, having VLC already installed would be sufficient - however, I found that wasn't the case (it couldn't read a protected Blu-Ray). I followed online instructions and installed the required key and library files in the correct locations but my MacBook said that it couldn't verify the developer of the library file and therefore wouldn't let me use it due to risk of malware. So VLC is a no-go for me with Blu-Rays. I didn't want to pay for Blu-Ray player software (at this point I still wasn't sure if the drive worked properly), so downloaded the free Leawo software (which has a fairly crap interface but is functional) - and was then able to play the Blu-Ray. I tried switching off and restarting several times to test that the drive was consistent, and it did successfully play the Blu-Ray each time after that point. I can't speak as to long term viability, but the drive does do what I require (simply play Blu-Rays on my MacBook Air) and seems decent value for money given the prices of some of the better-known brands.

Great value, perfect size, works!!
Works perfectly and I was finally able to view old family photos on a cd my late Mum left for me 🥰 Played all the jpg formats perfectly and was so simple to use. Its a plug and play installation and was ready for use from the second I plugged it in. My laptop recognized it immediately. The only criticism is a minor one and would be regarding the length of the connecting cable? If you need space it does not allow for much movement once plugged in .

Works well, bit loud though and CDs have to be really clean otherwise it won't kick in.
