desertcart.com: Headset Buddy Line-Level Input Audio Plus Headphone Monitoring with Built in Attenuator Adapter for iPhone, Smartphones (Mic-Line Plus) : Electronics

Review: i figured out how to get it to work - The headset buddy (hereafter HB) totally works as advertised, but it didn't at first and I want to share with you the trick. So I was hooking up a PO-20 (don't worry what that is; it makes sounds) to my iPhone. First, I plugged the male end of the HB into the PO-20, hooked a male2male cable from the line out of the HB to the iPhone and plugged my headphones into the headphone jack of the HB. This enabled me to hear the PO-20 in my headphones but the iPhone heard nothing. Then I realized I had the HB backwards. So I plugged the male end of the HB into the iPhone and ran the male2male from the HB to the PO-20. That got the iPhone to hear the PO-20 but I heard nothing from the headphones. I loosened the headphone plug and jiggled it and heard sound. The problem? The headphones had a microphone (mic) built in. I inserted an adapter I had between the headphones and the PO-20 and everything worked as it should. If you look at the jack on headphones with a mic you'll see 3 black lines. These separate the jack into 4 sections: left, right, mic, and ground. If you look at headphones without a mic you'll see 2 black lines: left, right, and ground. If you look at a pair of mono headphones, or a single earbud, the jack will have one line: signal and ground. So the headphone jack on the Headset Buddy needs a plug with 2 black lines. That means using either headphones without a mic or getting a cheap converter plug. I hope this is helpful. :)
Review: Headset Buddy Line-Level Input Audio Plus for iPhone - I purchased this item so I could record directly from my mixer to my iPhone using the built-in Voice Memos and Camera apps. Sometimes I don’t want to go through all the extra work and just want to record a quick “live” performance to send to friends and family, and this was the answer. Prior to this, I tried using a coiled TRRS adapter to feed the line out to the microphone channel on the iPhone, but I had to turn the mixer volume all the way down, and the recordings would suffer from quality issues and distortion. The iPhone microphone input is very sensitive, and my Peavey mixer preamps are on the high side. Using this adapter, I have been able to keep my mixer turned up and effortlessly record near studio-quality directly to my iPhone to make nifty little impromptu music videos and share songs I’m working on quickly with voice memos. It’s been about six months now and I am still very glad I bought this adapter. I only wish I had this years ago! The material and workmanship is of high quality, so I suspect this will last a very long time, but if I ever needed to buy another, I definitely wouldn’t hesitate!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works perfectly on usb mixer and iphone
*by E***E on November 2, 2018*

I've been looking for a way to connect my phone with my mixer - both input and output. This adapter just works perfectly, and the sound quality is good. Those cheap splitters DO NOT work on phones, they DO NOT generate line-level signals for your phone's mic. I'm using a mobile usb mixer (Yamaha AG03) and an iPhone, and I think it will work on any other audio devices as well.
