Works like it should even though the Ace Pro 2 has a good standard mic being able to use other wireless mics for enhanced sound is a plus it will fit with a cage you will have to remove if you need access to SD card slot with the adapter charging is easier having an exposed type c port from adapter overall would definitely recommend to any Ace Pro user for this adapter!

Works great! A couple minor issues… One issue is that with a mono mic, it will record to only one channel and play through only one speaker. I’d rqther it record two mono tracks for left and right… Can be fixed in editing though it’s another step. I personally prefer to use a stereo lavaliere setup. It’s a pair I bought from Sound Professionals maybe 15 years ago. One major improvement to the piece that can be made (if possible) would be a gasket that made the unit waterproof again while this is attached (for rain and fishing applications). Not an issue with this part, but rather with the recorder; I wish the gain could be adjusted without pausing the video. I like having the ability to monitor the gain though on the screen… One failsafe I found while experimenting is that if the mic cable is accidentally pulled out, the ace pro will switch automatically back to the onboard mics. Bonus.

Like the title, this is must have. If you want to use an external microphone you need this adapter. It has 3.5mm jack to plug in a wired microphone. you cannot use a USB-C wireless lavalier receiver with this adapter or with the camera. This my biggest complaint about the camera and adapter, it would be nice to use the wireless microphone that I already owned. The USB-C port is used to charge or to connect to your computer to upload your videos and pictures. To connect adaptor to camera you just need to remove the camera door and snap it into place, it holds tight and won't just fall off. Only problem with connecting it is you have to take off the door because it is small and easy to lose. this is a great product and if you want to use an external mic this is a must have.
