Kidde 2.5 TCM-8 Pro 110 Fire Extinguisher, Red

Haven't had a reason to use this yet and I hope I never do, but Kidde has a good rep and I know it will do its job if it becomes necessary to use. Also, I like the size...not stupid big or useless small.

This is the right size for my little apartment. I also appreciated that it came with a hanger for the wall so it is exactly where it needs to be.

Small and compact, hopefully will never have to use

First off, I have to start with an apology. My husband did not think it would be a good idea to start a fire to test this fire extinguisher, so this is a theoretical review in the sense that no fires have been set. That said, I do like this fire extinguisher. I wanted it for an extra level of safety at home, and it has fulfilled that need. We have an extinguisher that my husband got some time ago, but it’s big and heavy, and I am not sure how well it would work for me - I find it uncomfortable for pick it up. In a real emergency I’d probably be ok, but the older I get the more I wanted a smaller more comfortable one that brings piece of mind that I’d be able to use it effectively when needed. We also feel the larger fire extinguisher in our family room in case anything happens with the fire place, but I wanted one that I could manage in the kitchen, where the need for it is more likely. That’s where this new fire extinguisher takes its role. We have it tucked away under the sink, and I feel better because it is a good size for me - I know I’ll have no trouble using it when needed. It fits nicely, and we didn’t need to mount it. It looks sturdy and the dials and instructions are super easy (as they should be). It came with stickers if you need to use them to indicate where the extinguisher is located, but I don’t need it. Overall, I like this extra level of safety- just knowing I’ll be able to comfortably use it when needed is great peace of mind.
