Outward Hound Hide-A-Squirrel Plush Squeaky Dog Toy, XL

Our dog loves playing with this toy and the squirrels get thrown around the room. Despite their small size, all six are still intact and squeaking. The 'log' part has lost what I assume was cardboard in the base to help it stay upright, but this hasn't affected the playability.

German Shepherd owner. I bought a few things for his birthday (yeah, I know... they don't understand the concept, but they do understand the excitement of lots of new toys ha) and this was the one I wasn't sure if he'd be into or not. It turns out he's obsessed with it, his favourite toy ever by some distance it would appear. The fact there's 5 squirrels so he tries to round them all up, or you can throw one for him and still have others to tempt him back and foil him thinking he's won, the puzzle element to it etc... its genius tbh. The quality is great too, he's had it over a month now and all the squirrels are in tact despite his best efforts, the tree is still in great condition despite a couple of times being left out in the garden in heavy rain. Can't recommend highly enough.

My highly intelligent mini dachshund loves this toy so much! We have the raccoons in the bin one. The toy is quite big itself but the toys inside are very small which is great for her size (4.5kg). She can play for HOURS. She usually gets bored after a couple of days but she is absolutely obsessed with it. It keeps her busy and working. Nobody wants an unemployed dachshund as that’s when they misbehave. Highly recommend!

My miniature dachshund puppy (9 weeks old) absolutely loves this toy! I have been popping a few low-cal treats inside, alongside the 3 squirrels and he spends ages trying to get them all out. I didn't realise the squirrels squeak - that is an added bonus :) He gets bored easily so it's great that this toy keeps him amused for quite a while. The only downside is that the toy leaves a lot of fluff all over the house. But I suppose that'll improve after I wash it. I'd recommend this toy!

Size Small Bought for Christmas for my Chihuahua & out of the 3 toys he received this is by far his favourite - squirrels are just the right size for his mouth with each having a squeak & when the 3 squirrels are loaded into the tree stump its still light enough for his to carry. It looks cute, is soft & seems well made, & a good enrichment toy - I predict lots of use from this toy & it is a firm favourite up to now.

A bit disappointed with this given the reviews. Firstly when it arrived the inside of the tree trunk was filled with a lot of loose synthetic (plastic) fibers which would be very bad for a dog if swallowed. So I had to give it a good vacuum to clean it out. Secondly the base is flimsy - just a sheet of cardboard stitched into the cloth. I doubt it'll last long. Third, there are a lot of exposed seams on the inside which are not only easily rippable by dogs, but are a little bit sharp on any poor dog noses which come sniffing near them. Finally I'm disappointed with the design in general. There should have been a slit cut into the back of the trunk for your hand to fit into so you can "puppet" the squirrels. As it stands, the dog has to find the squirrels themselves. Not a problem, necessarily, but would have been so much better with some human interaction. The base could also have benefitted hugely from a detachable suction cup or something to anchor it to the floor, because the dog has no way of fully exploring the trunk without causing the whole toy to fly up into the air or get stuck on their head as they sniff. I'm not a product designer but I feel like I should become a consultant for this company or start a rival dog toy production to improve upon this.

So much fun, our corgi loves this. Will get another in a larger size when he is bigger -- recommended.

We first saw this Squirrel Tree at one of our friends homes and or dog loved it so much we had to order one for her. This dog toy is best for smaller dog breeds. Our cockapoo is 12 pounds and it's perfect for her. The squirrels are fairly small and have a squeaker inside them. I would be worried that large dogs might swallow the squirrels. The tree/log holds all the squirrels and has holes on the top and sides to allow you to fill the tree trunk up with squirrels and play hide n seek or tug of war with your dog. Our dog even likes playing with the tree trunk just by itself. In addition to the squirrel that come with the toy you can insert other plush animals and even hide treats inside the trunk. This squirrel log toy keeps our dog interested and intrigued while playing. You can see her trying to figure out how to get the squirrels out and find our where we hid her treats. Overall we like this dog toy a lot and would recommend it to most dog owners. For $38 the price is reasonable considering the play value and number of pieces. I would say we were a little disappoint in the first one we received. The base was not sewn properly and the cardboard inside was crumpled. Our dog chews through the base in a matter of a couple days. We received a replacement toy from Amazon and the second one was sewn properly. It's been a couple weeks now and our puppy hasn't been able to chew through the bottom and still likes playing with her squirrels every day. Great toy for pert owners and would make a great gift. Highly Recommend!

Wir lieben unsere Waschbärentonne. Wir haben allerdings den Deckel abgeschnitten, so dass er nicht an der Tonne befestigt ist. Wir füllen die Tonne mit Leckerchen und dem Inhalt als Schnüffeltonne. Der Hund liebts. Zusätzlich quietscht der Boden der Tonne in einem anderen tieferen Quietschton- der Hund findet es toll. Eins der besten Spielzeuge, die wir haben!
