Cool Horizontal stand for Sony PS3 Slim with LEDs

Boy racers like to light up their motors inside n out now ps3 users can do the same! I absoloutly love this bit of kit, it snazzes up my ps3 proper and has my mates logging onto Amazon to get themselves one. Looks good at day and obviously even better at night it really lights up with a bright neon blue... if you have your ps3 on a glass stand like me it looks stunning! And i bet even if you dont have it on a glass stand it will still look the dogs pyjamas!! The way it glows and bounces of the wall just makes u smile from ear to ear! Simple to set up, it has a USB cable attatched to it which plugs into your PS... (To the ones who only have 2 USB ports dont worry) it comes with another (short) USB cable that plugs into the actual stand USB cable that instantly gives you your USB port back! GENIUS!! The PS3 sits nice and steady onto it so no vibrations when loading up that you sometimes get otherwise. It also has 3 fans built in which stops the PS3 from overheating from its underneith. Clever! The fans are a nice touch and the only noise they make are a slight hovering/humming sound! Real quiet! The only bad thing i've got to say, isnt about the stand itself more the packaging. It comes in a not so strong or even well protected box that has a single thin layer of bubble wrap inside allowing the stand to move about, up n down whilst its in transit. So expect a couple of scratches on it when you take it out. It isnt a major problem though coz when the station sits on the stand it hides the scratches anyway! Trust me, buy this stand. Its amazing value. i'd of easily payed £15 for it.

When I bought this, I wasn't really expecting much for such a low price, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. Okay, it may be a bit flimsy and cheap looking, but what do you expect? Below, I will tell you what I done to improve this product..... Okay, so the first thing you will probably notice once it is up and running, is that the cooling stand is literally about one millimeter from the base of the PS3. Such a small gap means that the majority of the air being directed by the fans is more than likely just being forced back through the fan itself and out the bottom of the stand, thus serving no purpose. What you want to do is put a little bit of distance between the stand and the base of the PS3. I found four little rubber legs which came from the fastening bolts of my washing machine. These are about an inch thick, and really let the air flow between the cooling stand and the PS3. Alternatively you can cut two strips of wood and place them in between the PS3 and cooling stand. Anything between 0.5 and 1.5 inches is probably optimal. You will also want to make sure that the cooling stand is higher at the back. The reason for this is that the majority of the air will be forced to the higher position, so in this case, it will be forced to the back of the PS3, which is where the vents are situated. By forcing the cool air towards the back, you are effectively dispersing the warm air which is released from the back of the PS3. Some of the reviews state that this cooling stand is pointless because there is no vents on the bottom of the PS3, but besides the heat sync's and thermal paste, ventilation is the next best thing in helping your PS3 have a long life. So even if the cool air is not being forced directly in to the PS3, the fans are helping to circulate the air around it, thus keeping it cooler. When you throw in the cool blue LED lights, I just don't know what's to lose in giving this product a chance. Even if you only get a few months out of it, they're so cheap you can replace it in an instant!

I purchased one of these for my PS3 which had started to run a little hot and I was in truth skeptical about how efficient these things were so didn't want to spend a huge amount of cash on one . to my surprise this turned out to be an excellent purchase it looks great very sleek , it is very quiet and still has a decent amount of air flow produced by the small but efficient fans . the blue led's look nice adding to the unit . it worked straight out the box no hassle with the connection and it works so well i subsequently got a second one for my other games console . to sum up its a steal at this price , it works it looks cool and it keeps cool and as a gamer that is crucial .

Was very cheap and you get what you pay for..... avoid.

for the money, you cant expect much but this is NOT good for OCD sufferers as a start. there is one light on each fan and they should all be facing forward. the 2 fans should be placed at the front and the LED light is right on the left fan, but is facing backwards on the right one which drove me crazy.maybe im just petty, who knows. the wire also gets stuck on the fans causing them to stop. the fans also stop if too much weight is placed on the product. it doesnt take much. and when i use this with my laptop, my mouse and headset wont work. for the price its fine but i wouldnt recommend it.

This PS3 cool stand has one awesome thing about it. When your playing your PS3 at night, it looks awesome ! The fans are quiet, but sometimes can be heard as a small buzzing noise when your not doing anything on the system. However, there are Three problems with this stand: One: The device is USB powered. If your powering this stand via the USB ports of the PS3, your using more power to operate the stand, therefore generating more heat. My TV has a USB port, so i use that. Two: Its a bit flimsy, it wouldn't take a lot of force to crack it. Three: The three fans are located where the underside of the PS3 will be. And if you have a slim like me, there are no vents around that area... Probably more beneficial for the older generation of PS3's. Overall, its just a stand to make your friends go "wow" when they see your PS3 at night. As far as the cooling properties of the stand go, I'm not convinced...

Very easy to set up, literally just plug into USB port on the ps3. I have had this product for over a year now & still working like new. Lights look really cool in the dark & fan is not to loud.

Stand très léger, et bruyant pour un pc. Lumière à LED bleu magnifique (je l'utilise maintenant pour ma PS3). Prix très abordable, je met la note de 1 étoile, car le stand n'a tenu que quelques mois avant de devenir assourdissant (vraiment trop léger pour être sérieux). Désormais, il ne me sert à rien.
