Looks good, feels great, dubious about the kickstand...
Update: I’ve been using the phone with this case for a couple weeks now and I have to say it's been great. It fits in the hand quite well, and the design has really grown on me. Some people have complained about the knurled texture on the Bixby button, but I like it because it makes it easier to tell it apart the volume buttons without looking. I also have an app that rebinds the Bixby button to do other stuff (because seriously, nobody uses Bixby) so the button hasn't gone unused on my handset. The kickstand seems to be working great, although only in landscape modes. You can clearly tell from the product imaging that it couldn’t work in portrait, so that’s not really something to complain about. We’ll see in the months to come whether the kickstand will break, which I still think might happen. The case fits around my IQ Shield screen protector (their case friendly version, should come up with a quick amazon search) without touching it, so no worries of peeling edges. Speaking of edges, the lip around the case does make it safe to set the phone down on its face without the screen touching the table. I haven’t had any trouble with touching / swiping near the edge of the screen either; the lip is recessed on either side (so if the phone is sitting face down only the top and bottom edges of the case will be touching the table below). Original Review ______________________________ TL;DR: This is my first Spigen case, so I can’t speak for their quality track record or customer service, but judging from other reviews I expect this’ll be a winner, especially for the price I was able to get it at (only around $16 US). The product packaging was simple and easy to open. Mine arrived without any damage, and with the relative flexibility of the slim box and case itself, I wouldn't expect yours to arrive broken either. The case looks tough enough for daily use; I wouldn’t expect to toss my phone off balconies and second story windows and have it survive, but if I did, I would’ve gotten a much heavier case. I’m usually protective of my phone, so I never bother spending massive amounts of dosh on big thick cases. This feels like it’ll be a good balance of protection and not making an already massive phone any bigger. I’m not sure how well the holes on the bottom will accommodate larger USB and 3.5mm connector jackets (for example, the 3.5mm jack on my ATH-M50X’s is quite large), but this is the first thing I plan to test when I get my phone. Also of note—many phone cases cite being MIL-STD-810 certified, however this is a very loosely applied standard, and doesn’t really mean much. Search for 'MIL-STD-810' on Wikipedia; there's a section specifically talking about how the rating applies to consumer electronics. About the kickstand… It says directly on the box that the kickstand is meant to balance the phones weight to stabilize itself—makes sense. However, I doubt I’ll be able to balance the phone in a portrait orientation with the kickstand because it’s offset so far to one side. Being offset, though, works to provide two different angles to prop the phone at in landscape mode, which is nice. I think if anything will break on this case, the kickstand will come first. The plastic pins used for the kickstand hinge are absolutely tiny, and I expect they will easily wear down over time, or just snap off. I’m also dubious of the plastic snap-type latch for the kickstand, I’ve had kickstand cases before from a few brands, and if the hinge didn’t break first, the plastic latch wore down and allowed the kickstand to come open and flap around freely. Overall, it's hard to complain with the otherwise quality feel of the case and its lower price point.

Amazing case, great protection, sleek!
I love this case! I was looking for a low-profile case that also offered decent protection and wasn't super flashy. It just happens to be a bonus that this case is super sleek and high tech looking. This is my first Spigen case. I really like how my blue S9+ accents the gunmetal case. Pros: -Low-profile, sleek design does not make the phone feel oversized in my pocket -Dual layer protection for impact absorption -Large hole for the 3.5mm / USB-C jack, able to accommodate any size headphone plug or USB-C cable -The Bixby button has a nice texture to it, so you can easily feel it for those who use it and don't want to accidentally activate Bixby when trying to adjust volume instead (I disabled mine) Cons: None! Other thoughts (These are hardly worth taking off a star, but I thought I would mention them): -The raised lips are only on the top and bottom edge due to the curved edge of the phone. Both the left and right sides of the case are below the level of the screen. I highly recommend a screen protector for this reason. -The kickstand, in my opinion, is on the wrong side of the case. It should be on the opposite side so the volume buttons are easily accessible. As it stands, the volume buttons end up being on the bottom edge, so you'd need to pick up your phone to use them rather than press down from the top while your phone is propped up. I suppose you could prop up the phone so it lays more flat rather than vertical, but that isn't always convenient. Also I wish the kickstand was metal, as it is easily the first part of the case to fail if/when the time comes (it's already slightly bendy with only a tiny bit of pressure - maybe why they put it on the side with the volume buttons?) Overall, I think this was a great purchase and I recommend this case to anyone who wants a sleek, high tech looking case with good protection.

Pretty decent case but makes the buttons hard to press
Pros: - Keeps the phone size slim and doesn't add unnecessary bulk - Has the lip on the top and bottom so if you put your phone face down, your phone's screen doesn't come in contact with the surface - Fits with at least 3 brands of tempered glass protectors, although those are basically all the same product with different brands slappedon them - Nice matte black finish and feels like a really durable plastic/rubber. if i dropped this concrete, I don't even think the plastic will show any damage Cons: - The little kickstand in the back's hinge doesn't feel too durable. i live in fear that if I accidentally apply too much pressure to my phone while it's leaning on the stand, it'll snap. The snap that keeps it locked in place also feels like it'll stop snapping in place after a few hundred clicks. - The plastic/rubber material is so hard that the buttons are pretty difficult to press in. It constantly feels like you're bending the outer edge of the case before the plastic makes contact with the button to push it down. i wish they used some kind of button to push down the phone's buttons. Overall, not bad - i'm planning to keep using this case, but maybe cut out the button holes or until the kickstand in the back snaps off.

I've used this brand for 3 years now, not one cracked screen
I had this for my galaxy s7 edge for the 2 years I owned it. I dropped it at least 50 times on tile, concrete, wood, etc and I never got one cracked screen. My phone fell from about 4 feet onto tile and the digitizer inside the phone broke, not the screen. I had the phone for about 26 months already and it was due for an upgrade. My mother, brother, sister, and now my father use it for their Iphones, galaxy, and LG phones. I used it for my s9 plus. I bought a second one because the case got really scuffed and looked old and I played with the stand too much so it got really loose and would just pop out all the time. Pros: Incredibly durable. Pretty thin, relatively. The stand comes in handy, a lot. The aux (auxiliary) opening and the type c opening on the case are wide enough that you can plug-in everything without the case interfering. Cons: The cover scuffs up pretty fast, but that's inevitable with any colored plastic case. Another con is that the stand gets really loose after a while, only because it's addictive to play with and the more you play with it, the looser it gets. Overall, get this case.

Fantastic case. Slim and comfortable!
This case was what I had expected (and hoped). All too often you get a case on Amazon and it's poor quality or not as expected. This case was both as expected and is listed. The case was packaged very nicely, with a very professional-looking package and lots of explanation on the outside. The case itself fits perfectly and does not add a lot of extra size to the phone itself. This is very important because the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is a very large phone. The button covers for power button volume controls are not too stiff and allow you to manipulate the buttons under the case very well. On the bottom the headphone jack hole and the charging port hole are both size well enough to fit most cables and plugs that you would need to put in. If you are a user that does wireless charging, I have now charged this phone inside this case on two different wireless chargers and it worked flawlessly with no indications of interfering with the charge in any way. The case was packaged very nicely in shipping, shipped very quickly after the order was placed, and arrived undamaged in the time expected. Overall I'm happy with the entire sale process as well as the product itself and highly recommend it.

Great case for the S9 Plus
I previously had an S8 Plus and the first case I had for it failed when the phone had a short drop on the corner. The screen cracked but the phone was still usable. I replaced that case with the Spigen tough armor case for the S8. It always protected the phone even when it fell on the corner. Also protected the screen and made the phone much easier to hold. I recently upgraded to S9 plus and ordered this case before the phone was delivered. I was a little concerned that there was not an opening for the new upper speaker on the S9, but the lack of a hole does not appear to affect the sound volume or quality. The asymmetrical kickstand is great for watching videos allowing either a steep or slight angle by flipping the phone over. I use wireless chargers in my home and cars and this case works great with the phone for this. The opening on the back work perfect for the fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor features of the phone. I would even say these opening make it easier to use these features because they direct your finger over the sensor. Great case and I highly recommend it.

Functional, attractive, classy, accurate fit, screen protector friendly for Galaxy S9 Plus
Shopping for a case for my new S9 Plus, I was attracted by the understated design, slim fit, and the Spigen reputation, of course. I have not been disappointed. Delivery was prompt, no drama, as I have come to expect from Amazon. I'm not a bling guy, so the tasteful, neutral color (graphite gray) and smooth, functional design were important to me. Very much form-follows-function, there are no gratuitous "design elements" to detract from the appearance. Materials are top quality and well-finished. Initially I was skeptical of the two-piece construction, but having used it, I like it a lot. I think the hard back with the shock absorber material underneath offers more protection than it would without the hard plastic. When installed, the appearance is of one seamless piece. Installation is dead easy, fit is perfect, including the cutouts. Judging from the photos on Amazon, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the two-tone color (graphite gray and black), but in fact it's really very nice, in my opinion - not flashy by any means, but a cut above spartan. The kickstand (which I don't anticipate using much) works well enough, it deploys easily and snaps back into place with a little click. But if there is a weak point on this case, I would say it's the kickstand. I can imagine it breaking if due care is not exercised - not so much in normal use, but things happen. Note: I saw another reviewer mention that on their case, there was no hard plastic under the kickstand (in the well where it fits when not in use.) I checked mine (recently purchased) and mine does have a hard plastic floor underneath, no exposed TPU. I'm thinking this may be later production version, as design is improved once it's in the field. Another note: Another reviewer observed that with the kickstand located as it is, when you stand the phone up (landscape) the volume buttons are on the bottom of the phone and are inaccessible. This is true - Spigen might want to look hard at this. I believe the reviewer suggested moving the kickstand to allow the buttons to be on top, and that's an excellent idea. The buttons work well, with a proviso. I thought the buttons without the case were a little soft in feel. The buttons on the case add a much firmer feel, almost clicky, which I rather like. However, if you prefer the soft feel, you may be a little frustrated with this case. The Bixby button is distinguished by a serrated pattern, so it's actually pretty easy to feel and therefore to avoid inadvertent activation (does anyone ever push the Bixby button on purpose?) The slightly-raised chin and forehead provide good protection for the screen when placed flat. Of course, that won't protect from any foreign objects under the screen, but that's true for any case like this. The same is true of the back, where the lenses etc. are well-recessed and protected in the case. Trying to hold on to the bare S9 Plus is not unlike trying to grip a bar of wet soap - so improved grip was very high on my list. This is not the grippiest case I've ever used, but it's very good, definitely a big improvement over the bare phone. In fact, it's a good balance of smooth appearance and grip. I like a slim fit, because I like to slip the phone in the front pocket of my jeans, and this case works very well. Overall, the case gives the phone a much more substantial feel, though short of industrial. In graphite gray, it is highly resistant to smudges, fingerprints, etc. I like screen protectors, I prefer tempered glass. Especially with the 3-D glass (thanks Samsung) selecting and installing a glass protector is a real crap-shoot. On the strength of the "Amazon's Choice" designation, I found one which fits and works perfectly - or at least better than any others I've seen. I have installed it with this case and it fits very well. I will write a review soon. OTAO Galaxy S9 Plus Screen Protector Tempered Glass, [Update Version] 3D Curved Dot Matrix [Full Screen Coverage] Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Screen Protector (6.2") with Installation Tray [Case Friendly ] I use a Samsung EP-NG930 wireless fast charger, and the case does not interfere with wireless charging at all, that I am able to detect. I used the phone for a week before I got the case, and there is no appreciable difference in charging with or without this case. So - a very classy, attractive case, functional, very good protection. Beautiful construction, easy installation, precise fit. If a kickstand or soft button feel are very important for you, perhaps you should consider other options. I am very happy with this purchase.

3 months in & an around-the-planet trip & still protects the phone. EDIT: 9 months later & SHATTER!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've had it for 3 months and it even protected my Samsung Galaxy S9+ around the planet on a vacation trip (USA to Japan to Thailand and back). I am extremely careful, but even the most careful can drop, and a few of those inevitable drops (all rather small drops and not on concrete or anything; just rugs and vinyl floors) had no damage whatsoever, so, I consider that a job well done and worth the money. Some pints: - Buttons all work ok, fingerprint sensor and cameras all unrestricted, but still protected via a rounded raised surface. Same for the USB port, earphone jack and mic/speaker holes. Durable, tough plastic shell with hard rubberized plastic underneath, making it durable against falls and impacts. - Case is attractive. I selected the Coral Blue / Black one and it looks nice. However, the case has suffered some scratches in my pocket (possibly keys or wallet?), but protected the phone perfectly to date, which is what they are made to do. - The rear kickstand is small, so I worry about it getting loose and/or breaking, but thus far it has held strong and shows no sign of wear or breakage. - One negative thing is, you'll still need a screen protector, because the screen on this phone is curved and it would be vulnerable to damage with direct contact without one. WIth a good tempered glass screen protector as a tag team partner, this has worked great. UPDATED REVIEW, 9 MONTHS LATER: Okay, so I'm afraid I have some bad news. My 5 year old daughter was playing around carelessly and knocked the phone off of a desk, where it happened to fall and hit the plastic base of a rolling desk chair. It happened to hit the curved side screen corner at the perfect angle to do crack my tempered glass screen protector straight through to the phone's front glass itself. Luckily, I had a warranty that covered accidental drops, and i was repaired, but I do think that this speaks to a weakness in the otherwise nice phone case: It doesn't protect the vulnerable sides of the screen. It did protect a few small drops to the back and corner, but not a frontal fall. Granted, these curved glass phones do present a problem, but, I figured it warranted an update. In addition the color on the case that initially attracted me to the case also have started to slowly scrape away.
