Synopsis:From the legendary Studio Ghibli and based on the beloved novel by acclaimed writer Astrid Lindgren (Pippy Longstocking), comes the epic 26-part story of a ten-year-old girl born on a stormy night in a mountain fort, surrounded by her parents and a loving band of robbers.Ronja grows to be a strong and active girl, and discovers that the forest is both a beautiful and frightening place inhabited by strange creatures. She befriends the son of her father's rival and so begins the drama of her friendship and family loyalties. We watch as she explores and understands these key factors in her life, and discovers that seemingly irresolvable choices can finally be made with the help of love and understanding. Review: A beautiful piece of art. - To say that this series is a beautiful piece of art doesn't do it enough justice. The development of the plot, the richness of the characters and the depth into which their relationships are explored, the scenery, the songs, and lastly, but most importantly, the music- every single part of this work is enchanting, thought-and-laughter-provoking, and soul-healing. After watching it one feels better and happier. It was produced by the Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli, which won several awards for its wonderful animated films for children. The director of the series, Goro Miyazaki, aimed "to create a work that everyone, from children to adults, will be able to enjoy", and he admirably succeeded in his goal! The plot follows in every possible detail the story written by a talented Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, who received a Hans Christian Andersen Award for her books for children. Each of her books is an original, captivating, true-to-reality piece of work, and many have been translated into English. Finally, we also wanted to thank very much the English cast for doing a great job and making the series available for the English-speaking audience. Review: Moawr!...please? :) - I absolutely loved this, I adored every minute of it. It is a beautiful work or art. Before it came out I heard a lot of rubbish from a load of "purist" toss pots about how this wouldn't be any good because it's a series not a movie and because it's for babies. Well news flash it IS an children's series, but why does that make it bad? It's from a child's point of view but I found that helped me see the world Ronja was born in to through her eyes. Yes at times it's a little loud and over the top but that tends to be the studio's stile and I came to smile at the "OTT"...ness. the art work is beautiful and I wouldn't expect any thing less from this studio, the animation is unusual and reminiscent of the latest kings quest game which isn't a bad thing as I like the stile alot. The story is simple if you cut it to the quick but it is sooo well done that it doesn't feel that way. and yes it's a little slow at times and yes they reuse slot of the same scenes, but that is because it's a series which isn't a bad thing because if it was a movie they wouldn't have time to add all the little details that make this "extended movie" excellent. And finally whilst they've tied up all the lose ends very neatly I wouldn't mind if they make another series maybe about Ronja and Birk finding their way in the world? ... please...desertcart?...

I did find the mispronunciation of the names to be extremely annoying at times
As a Scandinavian who grew up watching the original film, in its original language, I am obviously biased. I did find the mispronunciation of the names to be extremely annoying at times, but the picture artwork is beautiful. For those kids who don't know the story from before (or how the names are supposed to be pronounced) I believe it will be a magical experience. The wolf song was always one of my favorite lullabies.

A delightful story, beautifully brought to life.
What a delightful series this is. Perfect fun for all ages 6/7+ to enjoy with the polish of the expert Ghibli animators and a simple classic story told well. Colourful, bright, and genuinely warm hearted, Amazon have commissioned a real gem here. No doubt the Japanese language track will be on a future DVD, but the English cast do a good job I think. Remember this is a children's story, so if things are sometimes OTT then it is to be expected and does not take away from the whole.

Above and beyond expectations - a review from someone growing up with Ronja Røverdatter, the original!
Growing up with Astrid Lindgren and the original Swedish film based on the book, this is something that I have been fearing would happen for so long, after a company bought up Pippi Longstockings and ruined the whole concept. But then came Studio Ghibli. There is not a single company apart from them in the whole world that could honor the original feel of this fantasy world. They have captured the feel-good from the original film, the way this story celebrates nature and everything and everyone living with it and in it, and done an astoundingly amazing job. They also perfectly translated the story into a cartoon in a style that typical western film makers are totally incapable of doing. Finally FINALLY I can share with my English speaking friends and family a treasured piece of lore from my childhood. Thank you, Studio Ghibli!

Enchanting
I've been a fan of Studio Ghibli for several years now, and Ronja hasn't let me down. A wonderful story, beautiful art work, and the minute attention to detail that sets Studio Ghibli apart from the rest, it's all there in Ronja. To quote a former work colleague of mine, such fine work is 'wasted on children.' In fact it's far too limiting to simply pigeonhole it under 'For Children' as I'm sure people of all ages can find enjoyment in this series. Adventure, growing up, discovering the world of nature, the stages of life, all wonderfully captured and portrayed by the masters of animation. I'm not ashamed to say it moved me to tears, more than once, and it reminded me of the joy of being a young child. Only one thing puzzles me; a fort full of robbers and the only females are Ronja and her mother?? And Mother cleans and cooks for all the robbers while they go out robbing. But I do realise the makers are just being faithful to the story, just that times have changed greatly since the era in which the story is set.

Great Adaptation, perfect for children
This is a wonderful tale of friendship between a young girl and boy who are both the youngest members of two rival bands of robbers. It has much of the wonder of fairy tales and the story is not too heavy, so younger children should enjoy. It is a journey of exploring and experiencing the excitement, beauty and dangers of the world. Beautiful scenery and an unhurried story make it an enjoyable watch as Ronja, her family and friends grow and overcome changes and challenges.

Me a encantado. Tengo que confesar que creía que y va a ser un truño infantil y cutre. Pero me equivoqué. Me a gustado muchísimo.

Jonu media seguid asi!!
