6/4/24: I just sent the following note to the manufacturer, whose M505 manual does NOT include them. I figured out the problem! I heavily recommend you include these instructions in your manual. I plan to write an Amazon review with them. 1. The M505 contains several music playing programs built into the unit. 2. To access one of them, MX Player Pro, navigate as follows: 3. Turn on unit. 4. Press round "Home" circle just below screen until icons display. 5. Press "Play Music" icon (white triangle inside blue square). 6. Press icon with 3 vertical dots at upper right. 7. Press Settings. 8. Press Audio. 9. First option: Audio Player; Use as audio player. Press anywhere on these words to add checkmark to box on right. You have now selected MX Player Pro to play any music file you have transferred to the M505 and chosen to play. You may try other media players already installed on the M505, too; I just found this one to work well and easy to initiate. (End) I will happily keep and use the M505. Thanks, Russell Farley

So I bought this back in late October of 2024, and in my near 4 months of owning this device, these are the problems that I have encountered. 1. The mp3 player kept ejecting my SD card: I have a Sandisk 128gb SD card that I decided to swap out the 64gb SD card that came with this device, as it had all the music I was listening to already on it. Music was playing fine until one day the audio cut out. I was wearing earbuds connected to the MP3 via a cord, so I knew it wasn't the fault of a faulty Bluetooth connection. When I checked my storage settings, I saw that my SD card wasn't showing up, so I ejected the card and slotted it back in. Thirty minutes to an hour later the same thing happened. Finally, I had no choice but to no longer use my Sandisk card with this Mp3 player and go back to the previous 64gb card, which leads right into number two. 2. The pre-installed SD card could not be read by the device: When I put the original card back in, it failed to read the card even though it had some music data and jpeg for wallpapers already on the card when I bought it. So, I had to slot it into an old MP3 that I no longer use, upload music onto it through my old device, eject it and slot it into my new MP3. Kinda weird, not a major upsetting detail for me IMO. Still, I felt this was worth mentioning. 3. Bluetooth connectivity is trash: Ever since I got it, I've been plagued with choppy audio, regardless of whether they are headphones, speakers or even earbuds, it happens all the same. If you are looking for a MP3 device with proper Bluetooth connectivity this is NOT the product for you. 4. Crashes: This one is fairly recent, as of this past week. I was listening to my music, with cord in earbuds when all of a sudden, the audio cut out. I thought I had accidentally hit the pause button on my earbuds, but when I checked my MP3, the screen wouldn't turn on. So, I held my thumb down on the power button and that's how I found out that the entire device shut off. Whether it was due to overheating in my pocket while I was working or exercising, or if it was because of a crowded SD card I don't know. All I do know is that happened multiple times throughout the week. All in all, my experience with this device has left me disappointed in the money I spent to get it, and I will most likely not be getting a replacement one.

Ok, I was skeptical. I have downloaded audiobooks to a non-Wi-Fi MP3 player for years and was very chagrined when my library removed that function from Overdrive. I am now forced to use Libby and Hoopla in real time on my device. I wanted this function separate from my cell phone, and this little device is not only cute but fully meets my needs. No problems downloading the Libby and Hoopla apps. Podcast addict, youtube, and Spotify are also no problem. I wish it supported the Goodreads app where I manage my reading materials, but I can access Goodreads through the browser desktop version. The navigation of the unit is self is pretty good. It doesn't have a camera, but I don't really need this device for that purpose. I did want a couple cute wallpapers, so I simply emailed them to myself and downloaded Gmail in order to transfer the files to my device. Just go for it -- you will be pleasantly surprised!

I was looking for an MP3 player with a bigger screen than those dedicated media players with smallish screens. With this, I can now see what's playing without having to squint. You can install your own media apps from the Google Play store, which I found was a bonus considering the price. It's easy to hold, the power button and volume buttons are responsive, and it just feels sturdy. In the process of setting it up, I removed most of its apps and installed my own favorite media apps. Although the sound is good - what I'd expect from a tiny built-in speaker - the volume could be a little higher. I use it with an aux cable to my car radio, and it sounds just fine. Battery life is good. The touch screen is sensitive. I've tried to swipe sometimes and it registers as a click. It gets better with practice, though. One thing that I found peculiar, however, was that the "HiBy Music" app it came with reinstalls itself even after multiple attempts to uninstall it. Not sure what to make of that.

This MP3 player has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities that works perfectly wherever I go, and the FM radio is very clear. I've downloaded all the stored music and it took a little while to learn how to use it, but now there are over 2,000 songs on it. It even has a built-in speaker, but when I use an external Bluetooth speaker, I can watch movies with theater sounds. I haven't tried reading yet. It can be charged for a long time. I highly recommend this product and the price is great.

I bought this to stream internet radio stations to my stereo through Bluetooth or the headphone jack connection. I did accomplished each of those. The device does have WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, though it may take a bit of time to get connected to the WiFi. The response to screen touch commands can be slow. Sometimes I don't know if the command has been taken, and I just had to learn to be patient. Logging into Google Play took several tries because the device would disconnect from the app, or the screen would lock. But once I got into Google Play I could download the apps I wanted and work my way, slowly, through the settings. Powering on the device is also slow. I set up a lock screen pattern and sometimes for no apparent reason the lock screen comes back on when I am trying to access an app. Its a little frustrating, but once connections are made and the app I want is running, the device streams audio over WiFi just fine. The two apps I use most are iHeartRadio and Chrome. I haven't downloaded music to the device so can't comment on how well it works for downloading and playing locally stored music.

I bought this to listen to Audible audiobooks while driving to and from work... ...I drive 1.5 hours each way and I download audiobooks and listen to them through the AUX port in my vehicle's audio system. Battery life is sufficient for my purposes and the storage space with a mini SD card is more than adequate! So far, it has never let me down, and I'm not much of a tech geek, as a matter of fact, I'm about as old school as they come... ...if I can make the ZAQE work for me, I'm sure you can too!

I'm not sure what the designers of this player had in mind - did they think they were designing an MP3 player or a flight control system for an Airbus? Or did they just borrow bits and pieces of an operating program from and old MS DOS machine somewhere? The software operating program is harder to understand than Chinese arithmetic. First, the "operating manual" that comes with the unit has virtually NO information about how to operate or program the unit so that it can actually PLAY MP3s -- and that's what it's advertised as being able to do! One has to experiment with it -- a lot! Second, the amount of screens and "button clicks" just to get one single MP3 recording on a chip to play (let alone a sequence of them) is confusing and dreadfully time consuming. I also found that often the program operation would change (significantly) between playings - meaning that the method required to get anything to play would be different almost every time the unit was turned on. Third, I had to send the first one I bought back because the sound quality degenerated very badly after about 4 weeks of playing the few songs I could get it to play. No, it was not dropped or exposed to water etc. The songs started to sound like they were recorded inside of a water closet. I might add that these same songs/chip still work and sound very good on the other (much less expensive) MP3 players I own. And yes, I bought the second unit because I thought lightning wouldn't strike a second time. Wrong. This unit is totally NOT RECOMMENDED.
