Mark of the Fool 5: A Progression Fantasy Epic [Clarke, J.M.] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Mark of the Fool 5: A Progression Fantasy Epic Review: Very good - I enjoyed this sequel so much that I read it in a day (and I really shouldn't have stayed up that late). The heroes are fun side characters and the first half was great. The second half had a ridiculously strong monster that was super creepy and the ensuing fight was well done. I look forward to the next one, but I am now 100% sure that this series will be very long as he's only halfway through second year. I both love and hate that since the series is well done and interesting, but I absolutely despise waiting for more books to come out lol. Review: Very enjoyable series - Once I get into each story, it’s hard to put down. I find them very fast paced and exciting! I really like the ‘cabal’ and am definitely empathetic to the main character - Alex. I have read several different D&D litrpg series and this is definitely one of the best!

Thoroughly enjoyed
Many series start to bog down by this point. I'm pleased to say that Mark of the Fool continues to deliver magic, mayhem, mirth, and mysteries without missing a beat. Bigger threats, greater powers, expanded scope, and an earth shattering climax. The author does a truly marvelous job of maintaining tension and portraying progression while including all the joys and fears inherent to accepting the responsibilities that come with growing stronger. Masterful characterization throughout.

Spoilers. Great book, small editing/print issues.
I'm five books in and I'm having a swell time but every now and again I find small typos that completely mess up my flow when Reading. My phone camera isn't the best but the part where a character says "they're probably black" I think it's supposed to be "they're probably back" because talking about someone from a previous book. I also noticed little scratches or messed up ink but I think that's a printing issue rather than an editing issue. Other than that it's a fantastic read.

GREAT STORYTELLING
OMG just finished this book and the storytelling is fabulous. This is not some mystery story it is a RPG story I like RPG. I am loving it and I can't wait for the next book. It is funny with action, romance and growth. The characters are all being developed and when the point of view is changed there is no confusion because it only happens in a new chapter not in the middle of a chapter. I like these books and the authors. Looking forward to January 10th 2024.

Consistently riveting
Really enjoyed the next iteration of the series, although I missed the academy aspect in this book the constant action is appreciated and the characters faced true turmoil it seems. I appreciate how the threats faced by the MC and Co. aren’t one sided or singular but growing and changing as time goes on. Great book, reminds me of childhood in a good way.

This book continues the series as one of the best I have read in a long time.
I am so glad that the series continues. So far it has not failed in providing good entertainment. A well constructed and planned series, continuing down a twisty road of growth and education of the protagonist and his friends. It is close to some of the greats like Lord of the Rings. No one of the characters is perfect, but they are doing the best that they can with what they have. I look forward to the last book in the series, and to reading more by the author..

Book five is full of action
This story is captivating and keeps you wanting more. I am excited to learn more about Claygon and Alex in Book 6.

If Mark of the Fool 4 was a lot of set up, and it was, book 5 is where all this pays off. Mark of the Fool 4 started and ended on really strong notes. It was all about Alex Roth coming back to Thameland and ended with a battle that he fought by himself (ok, and with a golem and army of summons but under his own power) showing how much stronger he’d gotten while he was away. But for all that it was quite a fragmented book. It was busy setting up a lot of future plot points and jumping around. I wouldn’t say that Alex was a minority character in the book but it wasn’t all about him this time, as we saw from the perspective of the Heroes, the church and various other characters. Book 5 goes in completely the opposite direction. We’ve had the set up and now it’s all getting paid off. This book is incredibly focused, maybe more than the others before it. I was reading through it, waiting for the segment I was on to end and for us to get a time skip of some kind and it just didn’t happen. In fact the first half of the book is a single, solid segment and it is great. The ending is fantastic as well. Alex and his friends have gotten stronger but the enemy has stepped up to meet and overcome him. It ends with a fantastic battle that really got my hyped up. Not that this book is all about action. The plot is great as well, with several mysteries and secrets threaded through it. The theme of scientific investigation, which has been present throughout the series, is still going strong here, answering some questions and unearthing several more. And the answers to those questions are going to be earth breaking, one way or another. In short this was a fantastic continuation of the series, leaving you satisfied and looking forward to what happens next.

I like where it's all going, how it's written, characters etc, could use a bit more proof reading for errors but otherwise fantastic. I'm looking forward to the next book

The ending is spectacular, explosive, awesome and very much what I want! I am so happy! Now, you just need to multiply it a 1000 times and you will have power, real power. Keep up with the great work! I am ready to read the next book! Thank you!

The best book yet hands down. A lot more action than previous books now that he has fleshed out the world and characters
