REOLINK E1 Outdoor Pro 4K PTZ Outdoor Security Camera WiFi Plug-in Power

I have tried many cameras over the years and originally was told that these won't work with BlueIris but later found out they do. I have switched almost all my older cameras over to these now. I wish the optical zoom was more but otherwise happy with the quality, connection and value. These are pretty easy to setup and with the app on the computer or phone can be easily adjusted. I have realized that if I set the presets in the camera app and then import them into BlueIris this seems to work better. I had issues of setting the preset in BlueIris especially the zoom. There are several models PEO, Wireless, and several different resolutions. I made the mistake twice of buying one that I thought was the same and a good price just to find out it wasn't and was lower image quality or didn't have optical zoom etc. I wish the naming of these was better so you knew exactly what you were getting without having to look through all the specs.

I'm not sure what the negative reviews are for cause this is a VERY high quality product. I was expecting some cheap Chinese garbage for the price but everything about it says otherwise. The fit and finish is really high quality and it has lots of little details like rubber feet for indoor use. You can really tell they put of a lot of thought and care into the design process. Also the company does some really cool stuff you don't normally see in modern electronics: You DON'T need an email to create an account to use the camera which is really really appreciated. It just works so easily with the app. And it gives a lot of nice info like bitrate and such, but only if you go to advanced options which is nice. Also the image quality is really good. It has all the features I wanted: (optical zoom (not just digital), outdoor weather-proof, very easy to use, 4k, wifi 6!, 360degree motion, can look above horizontal, not just at the ground,and best of all no subscription service!!!

I love this camera! It's super-easy to get set up and installed, and it doesn't miss anything! This camera runs on electricity, so no worries about charging a battery or the battery exploding due to over-charging! This is the second Reolink camera I have, and this one is just as great as the one I have inside the house. The picture is crisp and clear, and the focus is spot-on! The bees even love it, as they often check it out. Yes, I know, they see it as the enemy, but it's still funny. The company stands behind its products, too! I love that! There aren't many companies these days that will do that. I'll be coming back to Reolink for the next camera I buy for the other corner of the house!

Update: I just found out that this is made with plastic gearing. There is NOTHING in existence that should be made with plastic gears. This is a guaranteed failure point and absolutely unacceptable. Every single one of these cameras could fail at any moment, and Reolink knew this when they designed it. Video quality is decent, but nowhere near 4K. Actual bitrate maxes out at 5 Mbps (NOT 8 Mbps), which is slightly higher than 1080p but below 2K for H.265. Considering these are wired power and 5 GHz, this is far below what it should be capable of. There's really no good reason that this shouldn't be capable of 20 Mbps or more, though you probably wouldn't want to record at that bitrate anyways. It's got to be a matter of an under-powered processor (which is inexcusable since that's a pretty light task for a dedicated processor), or an artificial limit imposed as a band-aid for poor software design. The real issue is with the PTZ functionality. Panning is inconsistent and laggy, even when operating over the LAN with a high-end router. It's really difficult to center it on something. It also has issues focusing when zoomed in. The zoom itself tends to look murkier and lower quality. It's a 3x optical zoom, but it looks like a digital zoom. The controls for zoom are also separate from P/T, so you have to open a separate option to zoom. The whole thing is just clunky and unrefined. It also has no ability to scan an area, even though that should be a given for a security camera with PTZ ability. Apparently it's because they cheaped out on the motor and gearing, so it simply wouldn't last if it was constantly moving. At least have the option to scan every hour or something. It also can't/doesn't zoom in tracking mode, which is a HUGE shortfalling and obviously a matter of underdeveloped firmware. Overall it's not a bad camera. It seems to be pretty much standard for security camera companies to lie (yes, that's what it is. Even with compression, bitrate is the only marker of actual quality) about the resolution, but this is at least a decent resolution. Actual 1080p on a camera that's advertised to be 4K (I had Arlo before this that was less than 480p on a camera that was claimed 2K), but it's still lower than it should be. But the PTZ function simply isn't worth the price difference from the stationary cameras. If you're choosing a camera, just get the cheaper stationary ones. You can get two of them for the price of one of these, so that would eliminate any need for the poor PTZ function.

Edit: Two years later and these cameras still work well. I really love the Timelapse feature. See my video. Was looking at something to improve on my ring setup at home. Wanted something with better definition and where I had more control over the video, storage, and overall quality. Not to mention the other cameras I have are really troublesome for connecting to my home network. I got this set up late today, but loving it so far. I coupled it with a 256 Gb Micro SD card and have the settings up at 8MP 4k. I even got it set up on my home FTP server to upload the files there every 10 minutes automatically for a backup. Pros - Price - Great image quality even over Wi-Fi - Adjustable from video settings, to notification settings, to storage settings. - Quick to connect and easy to set up Cons - Doesn’t always respond to pan/tilt commands right away or sometimes needs multiple presses to register, however, this is less of an issue in fluent mode (low bitrate stream view) - I wash the camera was a bit better at getting true-to life video coloration in auto mode - Was also a pro, lots of customizability, so if you want the easiest interface this is not it, however, most things are intuitive and easy to learn inside of a half hour—and you’ll want to play with them. - Only 3x zoom… but at this price point, that is more than fair considering others in this price range have zero optical zoom. Ultimately, I’m very satisfied. I wish I had more money to try some of Reolink’s other products. Maybe one of these days. I would say for the price and quality of the image you get, as well as the ease-of use and setup, it’s hard to imagine a better buy at $105 than this PTZ camera. Also a prior reviewer was using the video arrows for playback of a recorded video not the pan/titl/zoom function which explains why he couldn’t move the camera.

I bought this camera to keep an eye on my backyard, but it is pretty bad at it. The motion tracking technically works, but only in a limited way. The camera can rotate 180+ degrees, but the motion sensing only works for maybe 90 degrees. So if it tracks motion to the left, new motion on the right goes undetected. THEN if you manually move the camera the motion tracking stops working entirely and requires a reboot. Hope you didn't install this camera somewhere that is hard to reach. Aside from all of that, if you can sort through the many confusing variations of this camera and somewhat confusing setup it's fine, but I would consider it a stationary camera.

Rated 5 stars so you will SEE this review. It really rates no stars. This camera will not remember any set time zone other than Bejing+8. NTP time update works fine but camera reverts to china time 2 to 10 minutes after time zone camera setup is changed. No matter if camera setup time zone is changed via app or browser interface. No matter if camera is totally isolated from internet access. No matter if all time parameters are manually entered and saved. No matter if the camera is totally isolated. I have two of these cameras and the problem is the same on both. I use static assigned IP addresses on a wired connection. The camera software still indicates an active WiFi connection even though they have no second MAC address registed on the DNS server. This problem has been detailed via trouble ticket to Reolink. After three rounds of emails they have no solution other than sheepish appologies and offers of more cameras to try. I have hidden the time OSD. Better nothing than Peking time! Dont count on this camera for serious surviellance setups. It is 8MP and may not work with older NVRs; speaker and mic work fine. Alarm and motion sensing untested since this camera could not be used for legal evidence submission. Vendor has no plans to update the firmware only offering two obsolete versions. I am a professional technician. UPDATE 2-1-2026 Latest firmware released today fixes the Peking time issue. Camera now retains local timezone and stays set that way. 5 weeks after initial complaint Reolink came through! 3-19-26 Update. After 3 months use of 3 cameras on two nvr systems I have had zero reboots. All cameras accepted DST changes flawlessly. Excellant video quality. ONVIF interfacing is only average. PTZ works great. Invoking a memorized preset is problematic with most NVRs even tho the reolink app recalls them fine. Setting PTZ presets, exclusion zones, and time sync from NVRs doesn't work. The cameras will not snapshot/email motion alarms via NVR settings and insist on direct internet interface upload even though NVR logs the alarm event. You must use the app for all configuration changes. The browser interface lacks many needed configuation options particularly regarding exclusion zones. The app motion/person exclusion zone configuration language is confusing. The excluded area is defined by the greyed out area and the included area is clear. These cameras are a good value but allow a lot of time to get them configured. Documentation is poor, app is confusing, tech support is terrible.

It has a very wide viewing area. Images at night are a bit dull. Overall a good camera.

An incredibly feature-rich surveillance camera. The more I play with it, the more useful features I discover. My one complaint would be the inconsistency of the Reolink app on different platforms, in my case Windows 11 PC, Android Phone and Android Tablet. Obvious features are missing or present on the app depending on the device I am using. I am forced to try all 3 devices to see which one gives me the feature I need. If I only had the Reolink app on one device, a lot of the rich potential would be lost. Also, please know that the MicroSD card is not included with the camera, and without it, the feature list is very limited, so plan on another $40 or so. Other than that, the best camera I have tried. After a week of usage, I now have to emphasize the inconsistency of the Reolink app across platforms. The Windows app is intuitive and usable. The Android phone app is awkward but usable. The Android tablet app is a bug-ridden abomination. Like many great hardware devices, it is degraded by a crappy, inconsistent app.

The camera is feature full without a need to pay a subscription. Great quality and awesome price.

Great product at a great price, wanted to add another camera to my home assistant system and as expected the reolink cam integrated easily, exposed a variety of settings and controls in haos easily and all work well. My only complaint is the mounting bracket for the wall is a bit finicky, make sure it's snug when clipping the camera into the holder, I had some mounting stability issues because the cam wasn't entirely snug and the cam almost fell at installation time because of the mounting clip not being fully engaged. Take your time and ensure the cam is snug.

Disappointing Experience with REOLINK PTZ 4K Camera At first glance, the packaging was well-done, but unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ends. This omission feels like a missed opportunity to deliver a user-friendly experience. Hardware: 1. **Motor Performance:** The motor is simply terrible. Pressing "right" often results in the camera moving left, and its movements overshoot frequently. The up-and-down motion is inconsistent and is affected by the poorly placed SD card slot cover if the rubber seal is properly pushed down. For a PTZ camera, this level of performance is unacceptable. 2. **4K Streaming Quality Issues:** While the camera claims to be 4K (8MP), achieving that resolution requires setting the stream to "clear" with the highest frame rate. Even then, the feed is riddled with issues. The screen frequently splits into white and multicolored sections, with flashing purple or pink glitches disrupting the view. Lowering the resolution to 4MP (2K) seems to be the only way to avoid these problems, but that defeats the purpose of purchasing a 4K camera. For the price—even at a Black Friday discount—this is a deal-breaker. 3. SD Card Placement: The placement of the SD card slot is an absolute design failure. Removing the card is nearly impossible without special flat tweezers. This poor design decision reflects a lack of practical user testing or consideration for ease of use. 4. Build Quality and Manufacturing: This model, manufactured by **Shenzhen Bilian Electronic Co., LTD**, shows a stark quality disparity compared to other Reolink models like the TrackMix W760. The inferior craftsmanship is apparent in every aspect of its construction. Conclusion: This product fails to meet basic expectations for both hardware and software. From its erratic motor to the glitchy 4K performance and poorly designed SD card slot, it seems rushed and unrefined. While it’s clear some cost-saving measures were taken in manufacturing, the overall experience reflects poorly on Reolink’s quality control. I cannot recommend this product, even at a discounted price.
