Xlear Xylitol Nasal Irrigation with 1 Sinus Rinse Bottle, 6 Saline Packets

This is the best sinus wash system I have used so far. With years of sinus issues, I've been through plenty of neti pots, wash bottles, and solution mixes. After using this bottle and the xylitol wash once, I had much more relief than with any previous methods. The bottle is very easy to use and it gets the solution deeper in to my sinuses than a neti pot or NeilMed bottle. I keep my bottle in the kitchen along with a gallon of distilled water so it's easy and fast to put 12 ounces of water in a glass measure cup, set the in the microwave on high for 30 seconds, and then mix the warm water and solution together in the bottle. If my sinuses are giving me a lot of trouble, like now, I use the Vicks steam inhaler (also on Amazon) for 10-15 minutes and then follow that with this Xlear sinus rinse. The only downside to the Xlear system is that there are only 6 solution packets included with the bottle, and they are fairly pricey to purchase. I might eventually try to mix my own xylitol solution. However, I am sticking with the purchased Xlear packets for now because I know they work well for me. Pros: easy to use, BPA-free, dishwasher safe, works great Cons: Initial kit only has 6 solution packets, solution packets are a little pricey compared to other brands

This has helped clear my sinuses so much. It is so much easier to use than the Netty Pot just be sure not to squeeze to hard or it'll mess up your inner ear. I use it and my 6 year old daugter uses it and it works like a charm.

Everyone in our family has their own nasal rinse bottle (we call them Quick Neti) and they are amazing for allergies which we all have. My kids are 3 and 10 and they are able to use this system very easily on their own. Though I must note that the NeilMed nasal rinse bottles are a little softer and therefore easier to squeeze for little hands. Both of my kids have the NeilMed bottles, my husband and I have these xlear bottles so we can have different colors in our bathrooms. Purchase with Neilmed saline packets or Target Up and Up Saline packets which are a bit cheaper. Super easy, clears sinuses of mucus and feels amazing. I use it once or twice a day and I would never go back to not using it.

I love this bottle it's a nice soft plastic that I can easily squeeze with a neat nozzle that sprays into my nose. I was originally intimidated but I followed the instructions and it worked out. Also the xylitol mix didn't irritate my nostril and I could breathe better after nasal rinsing.

I am a newcomer to the whole Neti-Pot thing. I've been experiencing weird sinus congestion for the past month, and I'm thinking it's seasonal allergies. My nose plugs up when I lie down, and during the day it feels like the back of my nose right above my throat is clogged, and it creates this uncomfortable pressure that makes it feel like my lungs are straining to breathe. There's always mucus running down my throat, and no matter what I did to try to clear it, nothing seemed to work. I looked online and someone said to try the Neti Pot. Reading the reviews, this one seemed better than the traditional Neti because it really forces the mucus through your sinuses and can reach the back of your throat better. My problem isn't my nostrils, it's the back of my sinuses. Also I don't have crazy bad seasonal allergies, so I can only speak for minor symptoms. I use cooled boiled water and that seems to work fine. You can use store-bought distilled water, but I didn't want to buy all that water if I'm using this stuff every day. The powder solution that comes in the box is sweet, which is pleasant. I'm kind of puzzled by the instructions that come in the box about how to get the water through your sinuses because it seems like the way they describe it would cause you to inhale water in your lungs? Maybe I have the nose/throat anatomy wrong, but I disregarded the instructions they gave because it seemed scary. Instead, I put the nozzle in one nostril, hold my breath, and slowly squeeze the bottle. This causes the solution to exit through the other nostril and also go down my throat. I still go slowly and a little bit at a time, but maybe later on I can be brave and use more pressure. Baby steps. After I'm all done, I'll have some solution run down my throat for the next 10 minutes or so until everything's all cleared. The sensation of the water running through my sinuses is uncomfortable, but I figure I'll get used to it, and if that's what it takes to clear all the mucus, I'm okay with that. It basically feels like when you accidentally get water up your nose in the pool, but a little less uncomfortable. I try to use it every morning and night, but it depends on how much my sinuses are acting up. After the initial use, I already feel so much better. This device really shoves all the congestion away, and I felt like it had been building up for a while. What a relief. I imagine this to be a lifesaver when I'm sick and super stuffed up. Anyway I've read that if you suffer from bad seasonal allergies, using this twice a day can really relieve you of most symptoms and perhaps eradicate all symptoms completely. Plus, since it's made of plastic, it can essentially last forever versus the ceramic ones that crack after all the salt. I imagine that after I'm done using all the packets of solution they provide in the box, I'll just use sea salt and have a simple routine. $12 for simple and effective symptom relief? Heck yeah!

I've started to use this sinus rinse kit because i seen this tv show that shown the sinus cavity and how modern nose sprays contract the blood vessels and shrinks nasal cavities allowing you to breath. What's wrong with that you think? Well over time the shrunken blood vessels grow more vessels and scar tissue to overcome the medicine that shrunk them in the first place. So guess what, you end up with permanent nose clog, and the doctors on the show recommended that you just rinse straight up, or slightly tilted to one side to drain out the other nose while saying ahhhhh, then it doesn't go into your ears which you dont want. You just want a gentle washing of the sinus cavity, not a jet stream up the nose. Anyways, you'll thank me later when you start rinsing and saving your nose from damage. Now on to the review, it's just as pictured. The plastic bottle is just a gentle squeeze bottle with the straw attached inside the top, you mix half a packet of xylitol, sea salt, sodium bicarbonate (it's pre-mixed) in 8-10 oz of luke warm bottled or sterilized water and thats it, let it dissolve. The manufacturer recommends tilting head forward, closing off one nostril, and just squeezing gently to get a stream going up while breathing in, to allow it to rise and hit all of the sinus cavity. Of course if you breath too hard you'll inhale the liquid, so just enough to go up a little ways and it will just come drain back down out of the same nostril. I like my ahhhh method better lol, but you'll find that you will discover your own way and do it that way. Just remember a gentle rinse is all you need. I just wish they'd give you like 20 packets as most of the ingredients are cheap. Update: i found that xlear and other companies make and sell the same xylitol birch type (not corn), on amazon so just mix with your own sea salt or kosher salt and bicarbonate and save some money. Anyways, what i found is if i'm anywhere close to catching a cold or something, like i feel some congestion coming on, or a sneeze. I have been rinsing once or twice, with lukewarm water and this mixture, and i haven't caught any major colds or they go away faster, no sore throats in two years. Now i can't positively say it's just this nose spray, but i know it's helping in some way as i haven't caught any major colds in years.

I’ve tried a few other brands but love this one the most. It’s a great bottle easy to use and the product packs you pour into the water are by far the best for helping rinse my nasal passage and clear my sinuses and helps prevent and treats my symptoms! Great to use every day or when needed and easy to wash. Price is great and I paid it with the xlear nasal spray and it keeps my allergies in check and reduces colds and sinus infections. Highly recommend

The bottle works perfectly for me. It's simple and you know what to do. I like the cap is made of silicone so it's soft. The salt packets come with xylitol and I don't personally see the point of that so I use another brand. But I would still buy this again.

Best buy for me, cleared a bad sinus infection and nasty smell from my nasal passage that I had for weeks. Seen it on a you tube vid and thought I'd try it and it did the job,when the doctors kept fobbing me off. Brilliant item.

initial reaction was - may not be so great product which i may rarely use, but once when i had severe sinusitis with difficulty in breathing, and nothing else seemed to be helping, no neti pot was effective enough, this came to rescue, because the water can be squeezed into nostrils with force which is not possible in neti pots. i also now appreciate that i do not have to tilt the head much sideways, effectively protecting from ear infection. con side is it holds less water, so u may have to refill multiple times to get the desired effect.
