These augers are rugged and work great in Georgia red clay. I dug a 48โ deep 15โ diameter hole in a drought using these. GA clay in a drought is like red concrete. It was slow going at first. I rotated in circular fashion as I drilled making multiple holes and broke the dirt free using post hole diggers. I repeated this and finally around 32 inches there was a slight bit of moisture and the process spread up.I also used these to plant 19 trees 3 days after 2 inches of rain eased our drought. These augers worked fast and held up hitting gravel. You need a strong drill.
