Review: seriously, it works! - I hardly ever write reviews, but I've lost 9 pounds in the last four weeks and this really helps. And that's with a two-week holiday in the middle of that period, when I ate everything in sight and drank loads (well, we were in the wine region of South Africa, you would, wouldn't you). I gained two pounds on holiday, much less than I normally would gain for two weeks of sheer piggery. And it was all gone again within three days. So overall it's been 9 pounds and I'm confident it will keep going. I only have another five pounds or so to go to reach my target weight so I'm probably not losing that fast anymore. So, about the konjac. It took me a little while to figure out how to take it without gagging, it is disgusting if you don't disguise the flavour. But I've worked this out now. I have bottles of sugar free bitter lemon (less than £1 for a huge bottle) and mix it with that. I put a heaped teaspoon of the konjac into a smallish glass, pour the bitter lemon over the top, stir until all the lumps are gone, hold my breath and drink it straight down. I then fill the glass with water again to get any remaining bits and drink that too. This way, I don't even notice the taste, truthfully!! The internet says that taking it 15-60 minutes before a meal is best, and that's what I try to do, but sometimes I've left a much bigger time gap than that - and other times I've taken it and then gone straight into the food. So from my experience that doesn't make a lot of difference. What I do notice is that I eat less. Some people on here have said it fills them up completely, and I don't find that, but it takes the edge off my hunger and I don't feel the need to eat anything like as much as normal. I then also seem to be able to go longer without needing a snack in the middle of the afternoon. Once or twice when I really did feel hungry, I just had another glass of the stuff and as long as you have the willpower to wait half an hour or so until it kicks in, it does really help to control that craving. But it is really is all about willpower - it won't make you feel like you had a proper meal. You have to have some self control too. At certain times of the month, I don't!! but the overall trend is good, it's easy to take now, and I'm certain it's making a real difference. I've also increased my levels of exercise. A note for those of you who might want to try travelling with this - I also bought the konjac capsules from desertcart and those are what I took with me on holiday. It's a lot easier to deal with than a powder and a spoon while you're travelling. But those are more expensive, so I went back to the powder when I got home and am keeping the capsules for when I'm out and about. good luck!
Review: I like. - This is easy to take in the morning 30 minutes before breakfast and subsequent meals, it allows me to eat a smaller portion size than I could usually cope with. It does slow down digestion however and this is not ideal, so it is really important to actively get on with not just dieting but also to get your heart rate into the "training zone" to shift fat, this can be done with HIIT that actually gets your heart rate pounding, rather than genteel HIIT which seems to have become popular on Youtube, and will do less for weight loss, but may still help to regulate appetite, which exercise also does. This supplement should be taken away from supplements as it can reduce their absorption, so I take mine 2/3rds of the way through eating a meal and always have a gap after the glucomannan before eating. The product is tasteless, it is difficult to mix into water, I use the scoop to measure and stir constantly while gradually emptying the contents of the scoop, however, I feel this may be preferable to consuming in capsule form as it may be more difficult to estimate how long it takes the capsule to break down in the stomach and release its contents, and it may not mix and instead form a hard ball that causes dehydration later on in the intestine. Hence, I'll continue to consume in powder form despite the added faff.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it just me that can't mix this stuff :-( It turns in to lumps as soon as I put liquid near it, impossible to mix. Directions were so vague**
A: Using the amount of glucomannan recommended, in the bottom of a tumbler, I pour water from a jug from two or three inches above the rim (i.e. get a good gush of water), and then drink immediately. When near the bottom of the glass, I stir with a spoon, dislodge any lurking small clots and clods, drink the rest, add an inch or two more water and swig that down. The glass is cleaned out with a washing-up brush immediately, under a running cold tap, and popped in the dishwasher. That way, there is no sticky residue, which is hard to clean off. My wife and I have been using the product for about 10 months now, find it easy to use and highly effective. A recent batch has been slightly less soluble than previous ones, but no real problem. Hope that helps.

**Q: It says to use 2 scoops?? (approx 1.5g) - scoops of what as 1.5g is a tiny amount?**
A: Hi Jenna. There should be a little scoop inside the packet. If not, then try using a flat teaspoonful. To be honest, I don't think it matters a lot to be quite so accurate. If you use too much you know because the liquid goes extremely gloopy very quickly. Don't overdo it, especially at first. It's a good idea to get to know how much your digestive system is happy with. The recommended amount doesn't have any negative effects on me, but everyone's different. A tiny amount goes a long way. I usually use two scoops or a teaspoonful in a small cup of water, stir it vigorously for a few seconds then knock it back as quickly as possible followed by another cup or two of water or something else. It's not the most pleasant thing in the world but I've been experimenting with things like fruit drinks and milk to make it taste better. Sometimes I use it in a smoothie. Skinny Sprinkles is made of the same stuff but with sweeteners and flavours added. Its slightly easier to take but has calories (can't remember how many) and is very expensive if used over a long period of time. I hope that helps. Good luck. And if you don't find a scoop inside (they are quite small and easily missed at first), let me know and I'll post you one of mine, or you could contact the manufacturer and ask them to send you one. :-)

**Q: is there a scoop in the package**
A: Yes there is a scoop in every package

**Q: Is this easier to take than capsules?**
A: I’ve never taken the capsules all I do is mix 2 levels with 1/2 pint coconut milk and a big scoop of strawberry protein powder put the lot in a blender and put it in the fridge for a hour and bingo it tastes really delicious

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ You need a higher dose to achieve the effect
*by S***N on 26 October 2025*

I was taking it for over a month. Is it effective to supress appetite and remove hunger? YES. But, this particular product isn't very good at dissolving, it's clumpy, it thickens VERY slowly and you need a proper teaspoon worth of product to make a glass of jelly out of it. So what I do- I use a teaspoon of powder, mix it really well in one glass(300 ml of water with squash), wait for 5 min until it starts to thicken a bit, drink. And then I top it up with half of glass of normal water just to clean the pipes so to speak. Otherwise it's not thick enough and it gets absorbed in stomach before it thickens so you just go to pee instead. If you actually make it right, it will work wonders for your appetite because the ingredient itself is doing exactly what it should.
