Review: Great Value Replacement Drive – Works Like New - I bought the Seagate 1TB Laptop HDD (ST1000LM035) open box as a replacement drive for an older laptop, and it has been working perfectly so far. Installation was quick and straightforward, and the drive was immediately recognized by the system. Even though it was listed as open box, the drive arrived in excellent condition with no visible damage. After formatting and installing the OS, it performed smoothly with solid read/write speeds for a traditional HDD. The 1TB capacity is great for storing files, photos, and applications without worrying about space. The 128MB cache helps keep things responsive for everyday tasks like browsing, office work, and media storage. Obviously it’s not as fast as an SSD, but for the price and storage size, it’s a great budget option. Pros: Excellent value for 1TB storage Easy installation Quiet and reliable so far Great option for upgrading older laptops Cons: Slower than SSDs (as expected for an HDD) Overall, if you need affordable, high-capacity storage for a laptop, this drive is a solid choice—especially if you can get it open box at a discounted price.
