We call m our morgue tags. We have milk carton bins in our walkin freezer to hold the frozen items we prepare for our menu. We sharpie mark these tags with the content of the boxes for easy identification - a low tech but effective system.

I bought these tags for labeling large parts stored in a warehouse. I stick an inventory label on and attach it to the part. Their bright color makes them easy to spot for scanning purposes and they are sturdy enough to be removed and reused several times. I like that they come with the wires already attached.
