Works well, understand its limits
Easy to use, the one-page (double sided) sheet is descriptive and helpful. When used with an outlet where both are used, you can run into a bit of a problem. The unit "intrudes" onto the second outlet's path. Which means if a two prong plug is used in the second outlet, it is likely that it can be inserted with no problem. However, a three-prong lug may be too "thick" to fully mate (see images). And if a USB dongle or power-brick is installed in the second outlet (see images), it is unlikely that all can be plugged in successfully. It can only be plugged into the top outlet without fully masking the lower outlet. The manual is good at hinting at tricks to be used for properly measuring an appliance's power usage, like commenting that the refrigeration compressor being on will engage power measurements, while hinting that when the device is quiescent, no power is consumed, and the clock isn't running. The display is bright and easy to read, even at oblique angles and in bright, indirect sunlight. The reset tool provided needs to have a clip or compartment in which it can be stored. I will guarantee you will lose this; I'm going to attach it with a string through a hole I'll drill in the tool. I think you can safely use a ballpoint pen, although the mfg does not recommend this. My usage of these devices will be to measure the short and long term power consumption of various devices in order to properly size UPS-style battery backups for medical devices. I am pleased with them so far. I wish I could give a 4.8 or 4.9 because of the limitations I've outlined here. Not as bad as a 4, and not perfect either.

Decent power meter
Inexpensive & works well. Nice to know what things draw for power

Easy and useful tool to measure electrical consumption.
Worked like it should and very easy to use, very much plug and play and the menus are easy to understand.

Fine for most, but if accuracy is important please read
I do quite a bit with power electronics for generators/inverters and such. I wanted an easy way to keep an eye on line voltages and monitor power output of plugs. Theses seemed reasonable, and I liked that they shows both Voltage and Hertz in the same display (very convenient for me when trying to adjust the governor on a generator).I bought the two pack because the price was good (less than $25 for two). Now, I do want to state that these were only $25, so I wanted to make sure that we keep our expectations ground in that. Overall, they were fine, allowed me to get the information I needed, and they display is nice and big. For most homeowners these are "good enough" to give you basic monitoring. Why not 5 stars then? Mostly because they are not accurate, and even the devices themselves disagree on the power. I've attached a picture showing my Kill A Watt, both of these power meters, and a multimeter all attached to the same power strip, monitoring the same power. As you can see, the Kill A Waltt and Multimeter are pretty close. This power strip is connected to an inverter that I know produces stable, clean < 3% THD power at a stable 120v.As you can see, both of these devices are off. However since they are produced using the same manufacturing, I expected them to be very close in their measurements. I didn't find that to be the case. One is consistently ~1V off from the other, while both are off 2-3V from the actual volts. For basic homeowners looking to get a basic, ball park estimate of what power is being drawn, then these are fine. This likely constitutes about 85% of all people buying this. If you are looking for more accuracy, then I would recommend that you just get a Kill a Watt. I was going to buy the Kill A Watt, but noticed I could get two of these for the same price, and they had a nice big display, so I went this route. I'll like wind up picking up a second kill a watt for those cases where I need to have more confidence in the output.Value - 5 StarsDisplay - 5 StarsAccuracy - 3 Stars

Monitor Solor usage to appliances
This upgraded watt power meter plug is a very useful tool for checking how much electricity different appliances and devices are using. It is easy to plug in and gives helpful readings for power consumption, voltage, and energy usage.I especially like it because it helps me monitor how much power certain items are using with my solar power system. It makes it easier to see which appliances are pulling the most electricity, so I can better understand my usage and manage my solar and battery power more efficiently.Overall, this is a handy electrical usage monitor for anyone who wants to track power use, save energy, or get a better idea of what devices are costing to run.

Good value and provided Good info
Works great, wish it had a memory or 2. It accumulated power over several days. That's exactly what I wanted.

Works excellent
Great meter for know how many watts a appliance is using and a great addition is it adds up how much the appliance cost to run also , a great feature as I use it for plant experiments, I need to know wattage and cost of a grow from seed to harvest , this is a spectacular product for these calculations

Good basic tool to check power use
I bought this primarily to monitor power draw from an inverter I bought that didn't have a built in meter. If you know anything about inverters, the modified sine wave (square wave) type will read low voltage on a non-true RMS meter. This item actually reads true RMS which is a big plus. This isn't a lab quality instrument but, if you want an idea of how much power an appliance uses, it's a pretty good tool. Display is easy to read. Backlight is a nice feature. Only issue I have, if your trying to set some of the functions on it you have to plug it in. That means you're down on the floor or in another awkward position to set it. Would be nice if it had even a small battery that would charge when you plug it in for a short time and allow you to unplug it to set it. I made a short 12 gauge extension cord to use with mine.Overall, I'm very happy with this unit.

Good meter, works fine, BUT MUST configure correctly!
I was a bit skeptical due to some bad review, complains about the back-light and display, and also some terrifying pictures of molten plugs. However IF someone read the manual, it specifically specifies that the device configuration MUST be changed before use.Out of the box the power limit before a shut off is set to 3600W. Any reasonably knowledgeable person will set this to 1500W max, or even lower to match the expected power rating of the connected device. The display is fine, but must have the back-light on to see it. There are also configuration for setting the back-light timeout. I set it to manual, so I hit the "UP" button to turn it on, and use the "DOWN" to turn it off. You can choose other options. Some other complaints were about accuracy at low power, again this is addressed in the manual. So it turns out that most negative 1 star reviews were basically regarding issues that were addressed in the included documentation anyways. There are valid concerns, such as the device not being certified, or tested by various relevant certification bodies, and for this category of device it is desirable to have proper certifications. However, having the device certified will probably push up the price way higher than what this is selling for right now. Additionally the competition is charging a lot more for an inferior experience. So just take it for what it is.

Meter works well, but build quality not great.
Meter appears to work well, but the build quality isn't great. Removing the thin clear film from the display seemed to almost pull the display out of the casing.
