Arrived 1 day late, but fine with that. Good machine, worked on 1st try after a quick read of the instructions. DON’T press hard. X4 Light slow passes in slot 1 was enough to grind a decent sharp edge. X4 light passes in slot 2 to polish and refine the sharp edge. Great results with minimal learning curve. Very happy with this machine to produce sharp knives fast. Stable machine, doesn’t move around in use. All drops back in its original cardboard box for back of the cupboard storage.

Using this with a set of Lakeland knives, it's been wonderful. A quick snik-snik and you're there. But my mother has a collection of Pro-Cook knives that don't seem to react so well to it. The purple and the blue one seem to sharpen not well but tolerably. The black one, I swear to God, seems to come out blunter. I'd normally swear my life to Pro-Cook gear. Anyway. It's a good sharpener if you pair it well with a good knife.

Been using this sharpener for a while and it does exactly what I needed. It is small enough to keep in a drawer and it does not take up space on the counter. Saves a lot of time compared to a manual sharpener. Just run knives through the stages and they come out sharper than brand new. I can slice tomatoes cleanly and even cut paper after. The 3 stages feel useful, not just marketing. It brings back a dull edge fast and the final stage leaves the blade smooth. Instructions are simple too. I only use the coarse stage when the knife is really blunt, then I finish on the finer stages with light steady pressure. Imo it feels worth for the price.

17 months ago I became disabled and only have the use of one arm. I have struggled to get my knife collection sharpened. Not having anyone close by to help me, I have tried other electric sharpeners. Other devices have vibrated along the worktop and damaged my knifes. This device has changed my life! It is heavy enough to stay put whilst sharpening with one hand and does an amazing job through its 3 stage process. My knives have a perfect edge to them now and make cutting food a pleasure. I have to use other kitchen aides to hold food in place whilst cutting, so having sharp knives is essential. I feel a sense of relief that I have a dependable sharpener know in my kitchen and I can look forward to creating meals ago. Thanks to other reviews of this product, I bought it. Up to now I have had a drawer full of semi sharp kitchen knives using a manual sharpener. I switched on the Sharpal for the first time , ran them through a couple of times with a very light touch Wow what a difference they are now a pleasure to prepare food with Have now sharpened all our grill and table knives.

Mine arrived about 20 minutes ago and we had to try it. We sent a cheaper model (£26) made by another manufacturer back this morning and ordered this to arrive same-day. What a difference this one is to the last. Easy to guide a heavy meat knife blade through the wheels and the blade is sharper than it's ever been. The machine is very quiet. Obviously it makes a humming noise and makes a different noise when a blade runs through it but it doesn't make the angle grinder noise the other one made and the motor didn't slow right down during sharpening. And the blade didn't skip and jump. And the blade doesn't need to go in at an angle. We tried cutting a fresh apple and the knife cut under its own weight almost and an onion was pretty much the same. It made my innards shiver because it's so much more important not to drop it or swing it around (not that we do but thoughts of dropping and trying to catch it crept into my head). Now and I can do all the other knives tomorrow (geek!). This is our first proper knife sharpener, For 23 years we've always had the pull-through ones like our parents used to have but then we suddenly thought, Why don't we have a good knife sharpener? why haven't we ever bought a good one? Now that we have, we're chuffed that we got this one (not glad about the last one we sent back though). If it fails I'll certainly want to moan about it. If a moan doesn't appear under this review from us, it's still working but for Now 5 stars

Very easy to use. My life is made very easy especially when I'm in a hurry and need a quick touch up on the knife to get the job done. I no longer have to waste time and energy on the sharpening stone. I'm happy with my purchase.

Very effective knife sharpener. Beats hand held sharpeners bu miles. Worth the cupboard space.
