I have not tried anything smaller than 1/2" but based on the specs I don't believe that it would. I hope this helps. **Q: This appears to be the same as a few other models including the Grizzly G0739. Wondering if it is?** A: All very similar but not identical. Stroke varies on the sanders. Only about 4 factories in China make all the power tools for all the brands. Case may be the same, but each brand specifies details like motors, precision of machining etc. Very happy with mine. **Q: Description says item is 24 inches tall, that doesn't seem possible. What is the actual height of the item from the bottom to top of spindle?** A: The work surface of the cast table is approximately 13-1/8 inches above the surface of whatever the sander is placed on. The sanding drums are 4-1/2 inches in overall length. Since the sanding drums do not fully extend above the table when installed, there is about 4 inches of useable sanding surface available at maximum extent of stroke. I have not measured the stroke length of the up/down movement when the sander is operating. Guessing about 5/8 inch. **Q: Can someone provide the mounting hole distance spacing?** A: Front 2 holes 9 5/16" center to center Rear 2 holes 11 1/4" center to center Side holes 13 1/2" center to center For all practical purposes, the distance between parallel lines drawn through the center of the front holes and through the center of the rear holes is 13 1/2" also.
