Adds great umami taste
This soy sauce offers a well rounded flavor profile that goes beyond traditional Japanese dishes. The combination of umami, sweetness, acidity, saltiness, and mild bitterness creates a balanced seasoning that can complement a variety of foods due to it's umami flavor. Originally developed to pair well with egg dishes, particularly the popular Japanese Tamago Kake Gohan, it contains additional ingredients such as bonito, kelp, and oyster extract that add depth and complexity. While it performs well with eggs, it is also versatile enough for stir fries, soups, simmered dishes, sushi, and sashimi. I even use it to season my ground beef tomato sauce and it is delicious. The product comes from Teraoka Yuuki Jyouzou, a company with more than 135 years of experience producing soy sauce and Japanese seasonings in Hiroshima. Its long history and international presence may provide additional confidence for consumers looking for an authentic Japanese product. On the downside, the price is relatively high at $10.49 for a 150 ml bottle, which may limit its appeal as an everyday cooking soy sauce. However, those looking for a specialty seasoning or a more distinctive flavor for specific dishes may find the premium worthwhile. Overall, this is a flavorful and versatile soy sauce with a unique formulation that works particularly well with egg based dishes. While the small bottle size and premium price may not suit every budget, the quality ingredients and balanced taste make it an interesting option for those who enjoy exploring Japanese flavors. There is no spiciness to the sauce in case anyone is concerned about that.

WOW! This sauce is the bomb!
My husband always tastes sauces before putting them on his food so he knows what the flavor profile is going to be. It was probably a mistake with this sauce because, on its own, it has a slightly fishy taste. But as soon as he put it on his scrambled eggs—WOW! The flavor completely changed and elevated his eggs to a culinary delight, no exaggeration. The sauce has a beautiful deep, rich color and a deep umami flavor without any spiciness. My husband is a retired breakfast chef, and as soon as he tasted it on his eggs, he grabbed the bottle to look at the ingredients. He was impressed with the quality of the ingredients and honestly couldn’t believe how this combination could make his everyday scrambled eggs taste so much better. A little goes a long way, you can barely see the sauce in my photo, so I think this bottle is a great value. After tasting it and getting a feel for the flavor profile, he also thinks it would be really versatile—great for marinades, drizzling over meats, and probably lots of other dishes. This one definitely surprised us, and it’s going to become a staple in our household!

Tasty - Nice Addition to Many Items
I was unfamiliar with soy sauce for eggs specifically, but gave this a try and enjoyed it. The sauce tastes like high quality soy sauce crossed with fish sauce, and fish is on the ingredient list. Definitely not a low salt sauce, but this pops with flavor. Worked well on eggs, but also on chicken, and frankly should go well with any dish that would benefit from a savory flavored sauce. Not a large bottle, but certainly unique in our house. We'll go through this pretty quick, enjoying it along the way. A little pricey, but for a specialty item that is somewhat expected.

That Umami Punch Without Being Overly Salty
I used this on scrambled eggs and then tried it another time over steamed rice, and both times it completely elevated the dish. To me, it tastes less salty than regular soy sauce, but it still gives me that wonderful umami punch that I LOVE. There's a richness and depth to the flavor that makes even something as simple as eggs or plain rice taste a little more special. It's very flavorful without the saltiness taking over everything else. I'm so happy I discovered this! Delicious, versatile, and definitely something I'll be keeping on hand.
