Q: Can you use regular cake icing?

The icing has to be very thin or it will not squeeze through. Or you can try cutting the tip to make bigger.

Q: Can you use this with royal icing?

Yes!! I used the royal icing that comes in a box from Amazon. I added a tiny bit of water Once I had the icing made and stirred it in really good. The hardest thing is loadi G the icing into tubes. Tried a funnel...icing not runny enough for that. I ended up using a 1/8 teaspoon measure to shove icing into the tubes. They write very well!

Q: Are these bottles microwavable? I'm planning in using them for melted chocolate. When the chocolate cools it tends to harden, so can I microwave it?

You can melt the chocolate then fill the bottle and place it in very warm water when not in use.
