SOLARAY Quercetin Phytosome 250 mg, 30 VegCaps

32F, live a whole food, clean lifestyle and workout regularly. This is one of my staples for histamine/MCAS and fibromyalgia flares. I can take this on an empty stomach first thing in the morning without issues and within just a couple days, my flare intensity reduces across the board- pain goes down, itchy watery eyes go down, subtle energy returns and my brain comes back online. I take this mostly for physical systemic effects but it’s also helpful for brain support for me as someone who has brain fog from neuroinflammation related to my conditions. For anyone curious or with similar conditions, I think it’s worth noting this acts on histamine by stabilizing mast cells to reduce the release of histamine whereas allergy medications typically block histamine after it has already been released. So may be an excellent add-on to tackle your histamine from more angles, thus reducing not only your histamine load but your body’s total production of histamine as well.

Apparently, this form of quercetin is more easily processed in the body than the other forms. I buy this quite regularly because my system responds to a lot of different foods with inflammation. And that inflammation creates like an internal buzzing in my system. I really noticed it when I’m laying down to sleep and I can feel my system buzzing because of whatever I ate. When I take this, it helps to quell that internal buzzing from my food, turning into inflammation. If you have the same issue as I do, I highly recommend these. The only downside is that with two capsules a day I tend to go through a bottle pretty quickly.

I had high hopes for this Quercetin supplement. It is a Phytosome form (basically liposomal) and used a patented formula "Quercefit" which has studies showing an absorption increase of 20x over other non-phytosome forms. That said, a supplement can only be as good as all of its ingredients! This includes all the excipients. Unfortunately, this one has a long list — including potato malodextrin. For many, this may not cause issues, but for those with gut issues it can have an additive affect on ibs, ibd, crohn’s and ulcerative colitis. Also, the potato version of malodextrin has been shown to increase any existing traces of e. coli in system. Yes, I did see this additive and decided to purchase it anyway. Since I had not ingested it previously, I did not know it would create mild nausea with increased usage. Live and learn!! So sad, there are so many safer excipients available. I am amazed that a company such as Solaray wouldn't look for the the safest, healthiest excipients to include with their patented "Quercefit"!!! I cannot recommend it based on the poor chemistry. Update: 2/13/26. Seller contacted me based on review and offered a full refund — that is awesome service and shows that Solaray does care about its products and customers. For this, I will give added stars :)

Extremely helpful for my allergies and histamine intolerance. Quite expensive so I can't afford to take them twice daily so I purchased another brand to take for my second dose but it is a really great product. No side effects for me. Just less inflammation and better breathing through my nose.

I use these for my allergies and sinuses. It works so well without drying me out like zyrtec does.

I have been so pleased with the Solaray brand since I discovered they existed about 20 years ago. I have been a faithful customer and I constantly recommend their herbal formulas to my clients. Their herbal formulas are usually fresh and twice as effective as some of their long standing competitors. HOWEVER, their bottles on average are 2 to 3 times bigger than they need to be for the amount of capsules sold in them, compared to their new up and coming competitors like Double Wood and Nusa Pure, whose quality and freshness meet or exceed Solaray's. I wish that Solaray would STOP resorting to selling bottles ¼ to max ½ full like many other old name brands do too. I love their products, but I hate their environmental waste and dishonest marketing ploy to make you think you're buying more than you are actually getting. I just purchased this Quercetin Phytosome from Solaray and the bottle was ⅕ to maybe ¼ the way full, even though the advertised capsule count was correct. It's SUCH A WASTE, it's not only bad for the environment but bad for my kitchen cupboard storage space! Would you buy a brand that sold a 4 liter jug filled with 1 liter of cooking oil, and happily put it in your kitchen cupboard? I would not, I'd be looking for a brand that was more conscious of the environment and my kitchen cupboard space! So far the Double Wood and Nusa Pure products I have ordered have come at least twice as full as other leading brands. They use the proper size of container for the quantity amount inside. If they sold more types of combinations like Solaray, I'd buy more from them, and stop giving my business to these big companies who are not environmentally conscious, or practical, and using dishonest marketing tactics.
