I like this type of cell phone holder as it requires that you manually push the jaws closed rather than being spring loaded. I say this because with the spring-loaded types, you are, with large phones, stretching them to the maximum which includes the maximum pressure on your device including, possibly, one of the buttons. Also, the spring tends to push closed and contributes to possibly sending the phone flying if you are not holding on tightly. On the other hand, pushing the release button on this one while holding the phone, it lifts out gently. Note, however, how tightly this holds the phone is a function of how hard you squeezed in the first place therefore, there is the potential for the phone shifting or repositioning slightly afterward and could fall out of the stand. With care, I see this as less problem than the squeeze types which can require considerable effort to remove the phone. BTW, this holds a Galaxy s20 Ultra (a large phone) with an OtterBox Defender Pro case. My others do not.

The mail was delayed but I finally got the order. The phone holder was able to hold my phone without moving. One other I bought would not tighten enough to hold the phone without slanting down. This one is tight. However, there is no way to tighten it if it should come loose. But, I plan to use my small camera tripod to adjust vertical shots. It appears sturdy and I like it so far even though I haven't used it. One thing though, my phone side buttons are in the middle of the side. When clamped in the holder, I have to off set the phone. no big deal. Amazon always wants a review real soon.

I use this tri-pod gadget as a hand-held device to steady my phone while I am shooting photos of my grandsons while they are playing basketball and soccer.

I’ve had this mount for about a year now and it worked great in the beginning but now I can’t use it because it’s too loose and won’t hold my phone up.

I looked for YEARS for a phone clamp that would not break my phone in half - I don't like the spring loaded ones! I really like this one since it is easy to fit in. Watch the customer videos for how it clamps. I use it for filming on my desk, and to hold the phone for overhead filming.

Travel a lot and tired of the phone holders being low or lack there of on the planes so i got a mini tripod and a small clamp both meant for action cameras and attached this to have my phone at an elevated height on a plane for watching movies and works great & holds well & snug

Don’t think the product will last long, hard to move between portrait and landscape and different angles. Easy to attach camera.
