Amazing power extension lead
This does the job really well and with the added USB ports on the top side make is more convenient to use. I find the tower extensions much better than the traditional flat ones. A must have.

Nice bit of kit.
I needed a power extension and this is perfect. Surge protection and USB charging with a 3 metre long power cable and it's also really neat.

Sanity restored
I suffer from OCD and back pain. Using the traditional extension lead was doing my head in. With several appliances attached I was having to use a plug with 2 USC ports. The whole setup was a real mess with cables everywhere plus it was inaccessible without moving appliances around or stretching over them. This little beauty has solved my problems with its array of ports and tower design and having a longer lead than the old one. Now every plug is within easy reach and I don't need adaptors or dual plugs any more. Cables are much tidier and if anything needs to be unplugged or plugged in it's very easy, less frustrating, and less back breaking. Why didn't I buy this in the first place? I just didn't know tower extension leads existed. A big fan now. So glad I bought it.

Excellent solution to powering many devices (but has a safety issue)
This is a good quality, solidly-built, power extension unit. It looks smart. It has a good long (5 m) 13 A, thick, white cable with fused plug. There are 8 power sockets, with 2 on each size, orientated in the same manner. This arrangement gets round the problems of where you have one socket above another, such that the cable of the top one interferes with the plugging-in of the device below e.g. a phone charger. The addition of 4 USB charger sockets on the top (3 USB-A; 1 USB-C) is very useful. I like this since it gets rid of having to plug in separate phone chargers. The switch at the back allows the whole thing to be turned off. The two indicators on the front show if the unit is grounded (to earth at the plug end) and protected (surge protection active). I am not sure why the latter LED is red rather than green? There is a good, clearly written (makes a change!), instruction booklet, which details the power constraints. I tested the power output using a 9 A electric fire. I managed to charge a couple of phones, and a mobile speaker, via the USB connectors, and also use a couple of laptops. Everything worked fine. We all tend to work on laptops in the lounge during the evening, rather than on desks. Being an old house, there are not many free sockets, and these are in relatively inaccessible locations. For years I have used a power extension that is placed more centrally in the room. We can then plug in our laptops and if required charge our phones by plugging in power adapters. This new power extension unit is an excellent upgrade. Lots of sockets for any devices (including things like the iron for clothes) and I can now do away with a multitude of USB type power adapters. The base is stable, so I am sure that it would work on a desk, if that is your requirement. SAFETY ISSUE: However, this unit has a design problem if you have young children. Electric sockets are normally gated such that nothing may be inserted into the live or neutral plug-holes until the gates are opened by inserting the longer earth pin into the top plug-hole. This unit has slanted (rather than flat) gates for the live and neutral plug-holes. You can very easily push something into these (e.g. a paintbrush or a paper clip) without lowering the gates with the earth pin. This totally goes against the idea of having safety gates for protection against electrical shocks.

A really nice power extender
Very compact and aesthetically pleasing, and the USB slots should be very useful for charging my VR peripherals going forward. All in all a sleek little product.
