Quality path to 2.5GB networking at an affordable price
The adoption of network speeds above 1GB from ISPs combined with the inclusion of 2.5GB NICs from OEMs seems to be the catalyst needed to bring down the price on 2.5GB switches. A new ISP in town is bringing 2.3GB fiber optic service out this fall, so I thought now is the time to make the jump to be ready. I have a one-level house that is really long that makes WiFi unattainable throughout the whole house without employing several access points or a large mesh to cover the distance. The challenge is extended by the demarcation point for service being located at the extreme end of the house. The really nice feature of this switch is that 2.5GB speed is possible with CAT 5e or higher cabling. That means you can simply drop this switch in place of your existing 1GB switch and have the capability of 2.5GB. I can upgrade my wired network to 2.5GB for a fraction of what it would cost me to install a mesh network that would cover the entire house and have higher throughput as well. Another very nice feature of this switch in addition to the robust 60Gbps switching capacity is the inclusion of the 10GB SFP+ port. This is an attractive feature for layouts like mine that involve long cable runs between rooms with multiple devices. This makes it easy to run a high bandwidth link between locations with the added benefit of being able to run fiber optic to avoid interference. I'm looking forward adding another of these switches to the network to achieve 2.5GB end-to-end throughout the house. 3 of my PCs already had Killer 2.5 NICs, so replacing the switch is all I needed to get up and running. A few more NICs and a couple more switches and I'll be all set.

Worth it.
Works as advertised, speeds are at 2.5G where available. I am running this as my main switch for my home which was wired with Cat5e. Our internet speeds are at their max. 2 year warranty is a really good deal as well make sure to get that registered right as you get it. Ease of use is great and the setup is just plug and play.

Great BUY! Great Value. Hasn't Failed me yet
Works excellent. Fast, Future Proof, Plenty of Connections. Used as secondary Switch for an AT&T Fiber Router. Great Value. I highly recommend, as I expect this item to be a good backbone for the Ethernet parts of my system for a long while. No noise and barely gets Warm. Plug and Play. Shaped right and ports are in correct locations. This is a very fast QoeS switch.

excellent - stays reasonably cool - provides full bandwidth throughput - may purchase more
review of - Real HD 8 Port 2.5G Ethernet Internet Switch Unmanaged 8 x 2.5 Gigabit Ports | 1 x 10G SFP+ | Works with 10-100-1000Mbps Devices | 60G Bandwidth | Plug & Play | Fanless Quiet Metal Switch - headline: excellent - stays reasonably cool - provides full bandwidth throughput - may purchase more - installation: easy, just plug in ethernet cables from multiple computers - temperature: the switch seems to stay reasonable cool. The previous 2.5G switch I purchased heated up and throttled. - conclusion: This switch is good enough and economical enough that I may purchase several of them and cascade them.

10gig and 2.5gig? Instantly Recognized SFP+ in TrueNAS!
I am fairly new to TrueNAS and networking in general but have been tinkering with computers since I was a young boy. This is the first time in 20+ years that we've upgraded the home network since 1gig was plenty for quite a long time but without a NAS in the loop Since then I have built this NAS mainly to store all of the 4K footage I've been filming. Previously, I was hardly able to store a few months worth due to space constraints. If possible I wanted to eliminate the need for storage drives in my personal computer and have everything in the NAS So far with 2 of these in the house with 2.5gb in between them and the server on the 10gb SFP+ port everything is working perfectly! I am able to easily write to the NAS with 2 systems and use half of the NIC's capacity at 5gig! It's only been a day so I will update as I continue to use this switch My NAS consist of 8 3tb SAS drives in a RaidZ2, totaling 16TiB of data with redundancy

Unbranded, doesn't contain mounting brackets like it says it does
Kind of a sketchy looking switch, box has no branding on it. I found the same looking switch on Aliexpress named HORACO 8 Port 2.5G Ethernet Switch for $53 so at least the pricing is the same and we're not getting ripped off by a drop shipper. The reviews for it seem fine though. The included instructions explicitly state that the contents of the package include mounting brackets, screws, and a console cable, this is not true at all. The only thing in the box is nice protective foam, an AC adapter, the small instruction booklet showing how to mount the switch, and the switch.

solid switch
Works very well. Silent and doesnโt get warm, even under load. The SFP+ port is great for both uplinks and downlinks, and supports 10 gig ethernet or fiber adapters.
