Let Us Pray

Excellent book! Answers a lot of my questions about prayer. At 88 years old, but only baptized around Thanksgiving of 2024, I had no idea how to pray. He does a great job explaining. He says on page 10 (first page of book) that few people are able to accomplish much for God, in prayer, because they don't understand the PRINCIPLE OF PRAYER. I am going to invest a lot of time on this book. Our real purpose on earth is to serve God, not ourselves, and what we pray for ought to reflect that. One disappointment: The quality of the book's construction seems to be lacking. It is the only book, out of several hundred that I have bought in the last 50 years, that is falling apart at the binding. Part is my fault, because I have attached it to a clip-board, and left it open where I quit reading. But, when I came back, some pages were unattached at the binding, and falling out. Don't think I abused it that bad. I am buying another copy, and will treat it with "kid gloves."

You can never go wrong by getting one of Watchman Nee's books. I happen to believe strongly in the efficacy of prayer and wanted his take on the subject. This slim opus is chock full of wisdom, direction, guidance, and scriptural support. Here are the chapter headings (which tell a lot about the book's content): What Is Prayer?, Pray According to God's Will, Prayer and God's Work, The Principle of Praying Thrice, Prayer That Resists Satan, Some Pointers on Prayer, The Wearing-out Tactics of Satan. I was pleased to read of how prayer quells spiritual warfare. Nee's advice to pray more than once to achieve peace of mind and resistance to Satan and his devils' trickery has been one of the best means I have of acquiring peace of mind, undisturbed thought life, and focus of thought. Nee writes from years of experience, from his obviously devoted ministry to the Holy Spirit. You can't go wrong with prayer and effective prayer is your key to freedom.

I fell in love with Jesus after studying the works of Watchman Née. This particular book I wanted in digital formate so it would forever be with me. It is spirit. It is the how to in prayer books. He lays out why you pray and how. You can actual use one of his prayers and experience the results. People I have given the book to as gifts tell me they sleep with it near their bed side. If you want to truely be a spiritual prayer warrior this book is a must. The first 10 pages are a special treat. He asks straight questions and gives you straight answers. It works if you give it a try. And it is a tiny book.

Great study guide for my daily Bible reading

This book was great! I have been a Christian for a long time, and I have to admit, I've always been a bit confused on the subject of prayer. Nee did a great job of clearing this up for me. First, he releives my fears that it is ok if I'm confused on prayer, because we all should be; as prayer is something that is supernatural. However, that does not mean that we cannot learn about prayer! Nee, in a clear way, lays out why we pray and the purpose of it. I have gone to church my whole life, and I have never had prayer so simply explained. After I read this book, during my Bible reading, things just started to come together. When Jesus talks about prayer, it actually makes sense now on a much deeper level. This book is short and fast to get through, and I think that there are still a great many things that could be said about prayer that Nee does not touch on here; but for what he does say, it is second to none in my opinion!

Excellent book! Only about 83 pgs., but each page delves into not only learning, but really thinking about how God wants us to pray, to listen to that voice , which is the Holy Spirit urging us to pray for what is God's will!!! What a great book!!

What an amazing book to get us off of ourselves and into the battle. God has shown me that there has been so much happening in my own family and I, as the spiritual leader, have been taking it out on them instead of principalities, dominions, Satan himself. He has only one main strategy, to destroy the handiwork of God. Let us unite ourselves my brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ this day to fight against these unseen forces of evil that manifest in our walk on this earth. Put on His Armor and walk in His Love today as we fight for our families, friends and those He brings across our paths.

Few books on prayer deal with Satanic attack against the Christian. This work is a delightful and much needed exception

So much insight on the subject of prayer. Absolutely fantastic! Prayer is about God’s will and purpose and not for selfish reasons.

Here is a guide on how to pray, also gives the prayer person a greater dimension to our prayer life. The beauty of the book is the fact that it makes one realise that God does answer prayer.
