Was finally replacing the stock switches on a board and I needed something to streamline the process/protect my fingies. This thing nailed it. The keycap puller is fine, it's a bit wider than the standard ones (the cheap/free 2 in 1 tools out there), but I prefer the the more basic one. No I grabbed this to pull switches and it is perfect for that. Easily the best switch puller out there. All you've gotta do is align the little metal prongs in a north south orientation (of the switch), gently press down until it clicks into place, give it a little wiggle as you pull up, done. It works every time. Press the button to send the pulled switch flying, try to hit your friends or enemies! Good stuff. If you have to use a lot of force, you're not doing it right. There were a few keys that I thought were being stubborn ... nope. I didn't have the puller fully seated properly. No worries, push the button to release and you can go again. Nailed it. You will need to exercise a bit more care around keys wider than 1u, anything with stabilizers, or anything else directly adjacent to the switch. They will decrease the amount of wiggle room (literally) you have to remove the switch. It's cool. Be gentle, wiggle the puller in whatever direction isn't blocked, and they'll pop free. My only complaint/feedback, is that I would like a dedicated tool without the keycap puller wires, or at least a reliable way to remove and reattach them. They kind of get in they way and pop loose from their little pressure fit nooks. Not a fan. Oh also the amazon listing is confusing. There are multiple versions of this tool and there do seem to be differences in the revisions, but it's not clear what those are beyond the different colorways. Still, this is 100% the tool I was looking for. The switch puller is unbeaten. The last switch came off as effortlessly as the first. Any problems? Not for me. But I've seen people having issues with the puller scratching the plates of their boards, the plastic of the puller itself breaking, and a few others. I've experienced none of that, and speaking specifically for the latest release red model I can't imagine how you'd accomplish that. The plate scratching sure, depends on your plate material. I've got a white plate, not metal, and didn't get a single scratch. At no point did the plastic of the puller feel like it was over stressed or flexing, certainly not to the extent that it would break. This thing feels really well made for it's compact size. Similarly the metal prongs of the switch puller themselves have retained their clamping force, probably because the design of the puller braces the prongs against the plastic/resin/whatever housing of the puller itself. Whatever the case again, be patient and don't torque like crazy on your switches. If you slow down just a little bit and go for accuracy when aligning the switch puller you're going to fly through the process. And it's weirdly kind of relaxing and fun. Ejecting the switches adds a little chaos as they go flying off in random directions to an otherwise repetitive/meditative process. Anyway I love this thing. My little fingies are super happy, and so am I.

Really great value for an auto switch puller. The keycap removal function part is fairly flimsy, you kind of have to keep your fingers wrapped around it as you maneuver the keycaps off, but it's workable. But the switch puller is where it really shines. Clicks onto the switches with no problem, pulls up with absolutely minimal effort, and the push button release is perfect. Less than half the price of the brand name auto switch pullers. 5/5

Works exactly as advertised. Fits the keys and pulls them off without a problem. Also holds and reinserts the switches perfectly. If I ever need another, I will buy this one.
