It leaked water out of the base and in reading the instructions they say it's a leveling problem. So I moved the unit to different locations a couple of times and then finally broke out the level and got this baby perfectly leveled. Still leaked. Let me suggest to add that another cause of leaking from the base is that the tank screw is loose. Found this out when I finally removed the tank from the base. As a top filled unit you would think it would come from the manufacturer screwed in tight all ready to go.So once screw was tight and turned it on it was like magic. A steady stream of cool mist. Wonderful! Woke up the morning, slept great, just about all the water was gone from the tank but noticed that the amount of mist coming from the unit was barely noticeable. Maybe it was the low amount of water in tank. No worries now, have to get to work. Turn unit off and deal with it at night.Night came and I filled up tank and turned unit on... nothing. No mist. Removed tank from base and drained water, put base back on, turn unit on... nothing. Did it again and used brush to clean the area as described in manual. Nothing. One more time and finally on high setting there was something coming out. Not as much as the night before on medium. But I'll take it. In the morning no mist coming out. And the water level barely moved in tank.Next day bought distilled water. Same deal, not working.Now returning. So while the unit is nice looking and convenient with top fill, they need to work it on it. It worked immediately - vapor within a second of power; very easy to fill from top with water kettle, or easy to carry top to kitchen sink; large opening to pour water in; operates very quietly with a constant low hum, and an occasional, slight, bubble-breaking sound like in a carbonated beverage; extremely easy to operate, you don’t “push” buttons rather just barely “touch” them and get immediate response; three vapor levels; easy to get hand inside tank to wipe clean; doesn’t leave water on table; no “white powder” in my case, but I suspect that depends on water source; has low-intensity power lights, so for people who must have absolute dark to sleep you can turn machine slightly so power buttons face away and it won't light up room; if you want a nightlight you have seven lovely, glowing choices. I looked at so many humidifier reviews and ordered a different one that never worked before I finally stumbled on this InvisiPure. It’s a really nice, little device. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked correctly since I cleaned it. It recommends weekly cleaning, so I took the tank off and cleaned the base with the brush. I ran it that night, and noticed when I woke up in the morning that the power light kept turning red and the water level was the same. I've tried taking it completely apart (emptied the tank, took out the part on the bottom of the tank that screws off to rinse) and putting it back together, no luck. I've tried 1tsp of vinegar & water in the base as the instruction manual said, and still no luck. The machine turns on, the light works, but no vapor comes out. I specifically wanted a vaporizer that would work with essential oils so we could try some natural decongestant options for my 2-year-old.
