Dyson Humdinger Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson design features and build quality great, as usual. A bit disappointed in the suction, which is not as strong as what I've enjoyed with other Dyson vacs. Update 22-Mar-2025: Accidentally discovered the Max button (silver one next to the red on/off button). Happy with teh suction now.

I had been looking for this vacuum for a bit and finally was able to get one. First of all let me say that overall this vacuum works great for what I need it for. I wanted something to suck up all the hair after a haircut off the floor instead of getting the giant Dyson out and having to deal with cords and attachments, this thing just cuts to the business and gets the job done quick. The other great thing is emptying out contents is so simple, you simply push down on the lever and it opens up and drops out (you can even go further by removing the entire tube and clean it fully with compressed air or cloth). This vacuum is not cheap by any means but if you can look past that remember that you get the Dyson quality with this purchase. The last thing I want to mention as a CON is Dyson shows a wall mount for this unit, however Dyson themselves got back to me telling me that it's not available and no idea as to when it would be available.

Yeah so they discontinued this one quick lol. This $300 turd stopped working on me after a single year. I setup a repair with Dyson and sent it in- and then weeks went by without a word or status update. after multiple phone calls to Dyson's annoying customer service, i found out that it's just been sitting there for weeks at the service center because there are no parts available for it. Probably because everybody who bought one had to send it in for service lol. Even when the machine was working, it was a piece of junk- it barely had any power, so it was absolutely useless with the boost mode turned off- but that mode kills the battery, so you end up only getting a few minutes of battery life. I initially just wanted my money back but despite the machine being under warranty they wouldn't honor a refund since my purchase was through Amazon- so amazon purchasers, beware. Instead they are sending me the Dyson Car+Boat which is the successor to the Humdinger. I hope it works better than the Humdinger lol stupid name too edit: the shmucks at Dyson actually sent me another Humdinger instead of the new one. They couldn't even get that right. I have a dyson upright - the gen5outsize absolute- and while it is absolutely amazing and i have no real complaints with it, it's the last dyson vacuum i'm ever buying off the back of this bad experience and their terrible customer service

This portable vacuum is the best I've used, and I have purchased one for our primary home and vacation home. I'm considering getting another so that we have one on each floor. We use them multiple times a week, and they are incredibly flexible, coming with several tools to help with cleaning. These products are truly exceptional! I’ve purchased one for both our main home and our vacation home, and I’m now considering getting a third so that each floor has one. We use them several times a week, and their versatility is unmatched, thanks to the various tools included for effective cleaning. Investing in these will undoubtedly make your cleaning routine more efficient and enjoyable!

I really love how easily this light-weight Dyson Humdinger vacuums up particles, dust and more. Its powerful suction makes it so easy to quickly and thoroughly vacuum a small space. Its multiple attachments make vacuuming tasks quick and simple, and emptying the bin is a simple one-step. Its only drawback is the price.

This is my second Dyson battery powered vacuum and the first one was the $500.- set with most attachments you don't really need. It lasted about 10 years and worked well, not bad. This one is the $200.- version with only 3 attachments that I use regularly. Let's start with the pros. Pro: It is (only) $200- Attachments are useful and work well Cons: On/off switch is located in the front of the vacuum. There are no words that would possibly explain that strange location. After using your second hand to turn the unit on you will proceed to push the second button labeled Turbo. So it will take you 2 button pushes with your seconds hand to turn the unit on. Very weak suction! Operating the unit in normal mode will not pick up a fly from the floor! You have to use the Turbo mode. Moving to another room or location you will find yourself turning the unit off to preserve battery power and reduce noise. Then would will use your second hand again to turn the unit on and then press the second Turbo button to establish meaningful suction to pick up anything. There is no charging station, you will plug in a cord manually while the unit sits around somewhere. Other than that it's a Dyson.

I love this hand held vacuum - yes, it is a little pricey but you get MORE than what you pay for. The accompanying attachments fit perfectly and the absence of a chord adds to the ultimate versatility. From floors to shelves, to car seats and car mats, I use this thing just about everywhere in and out of my home. The other great thing about it is the ease of emptying and cleaning. Pop a button and all the dirt falls right out. Pop another button and you can easily wash the dirt container in the sink, dry it off, and reinstall. Super intuitive so you really do not need to dig into some owners manual to figure out what to do.

I am Astonished how powerful the suction is one swipe and dirt gone. Light and quick on my stair treads. Perfect for all ur jobs. Especially if you have animal hair to pick up . Plus the charge lasts 30 minutes can’t ask for anything more. And it is not hard to clean and no odor. Clean fast and perfect

I had the previous model of the hand held. It lasted 10 years, The best handheld vacuum ever. This new humdinger is actually very below the standard of Dyson Handheld vacuum. The previous handheld had a trigger to vacuum. This one has two speeds high and low and you have to press the buttons before you start to vacuum instead of just vacuuming and starting and stopping by removing your finger from the trigger. Disappointed with this one but it stills does the job.

This was sold to me through Amazon tthrough a person named somebody Parker...The vacuum broke after 1 year after I paid nearly $500. Do not buy any appliances through Amazon...There is no warrantee...found this out after I contacted Dyson

This handheld vacuum seemed good at first. It didn't perform as well as my older full size Dyson of course but was picking up debris okay. The trigger type mechanism to empty it out worked well the first time but got jammed after that and could not be fixed. So since then it is a disgusting job digging out the debris manually from the canister. At this rate may as well pick up the debris from carpet or floor by hand and save the time needed to dig it out of the vacuum! Disappointing to say the least.
