Works with RING gen 2 stick up
I decided to use this for my Ring generation 2 cameras... And I'm glad I did. I was nervous it was going to be a big issue, but it was such an easy setup. My home came pre wired so I installed this in the utility closet and hooked up 2 Ethernet cables to the 2 cameras, then a cable to the router in port #5 (i figured it was worth a shot.). Cameras both got power, so I attempted to have them communicate to the internet over Ethernet instead of wife. To my amazement it worked flawlessly! A great value at $35 whilst 1 ring POE costs $29 and i would have needed two! Now i can add more cameras if i want to and setup will be easy! Great product overall.

Have Bought Two, One used for High-Power PoE, one for NVR + Uplink, Work Great
I purchased this unit for compactness. I placed one in and NVR cabinet, and the second one in a small network cabinet...both cabinets are low-profile wall-mount units. Both switches work nicely for PoE, and one is servicing a big Amcest PoE+ camera (Model. IP4M-1053EW) on the single PoE+ port that this switch provides. The two non-PoE ports are great to have in and NVR application, where the NVR takes up one non-PoE port and the network uplink uses the other non-PoE port. When considering the small size and low price, and PoE+ capability, this is a great little switch. I have run them a few months now without issue.

Hot S____, this makes my system work!
I have had both HIK and Dahua cams/NVRs that were seemingly full of buggy problems. I tended to blame them on Rain, high humidity, corrosion, my bad cable ends, clunky interfaces ...once, rats did eat my Cat5. Some know-it-all online called my gear 'Chinese Junk'. (...!?) I even upgraded to Cat6a. Issue: none of the above. It was (maybe a little of the above) DISTANCE. My run is 500+ feet/150+ meters and it appears I was suffering power loss to the camera. (I am neither an installer or anything like a tech) There were these incredibly long lags before the camera would make a handshake, dropouts up the wazoo, both long periods of working and not. It was like an old girlfriend during a lonely period who teases you with selfies. I plugged this device in between the NVR and camera; the handshake took about 4 seconds to a clear picture. I can only guess the 60watts was able to energize the copper cable where the NVRs could not. Now, I have to learn all the other stuff.... Jim

Reasonable Price & Works Well - BV-Tech 6 Port PoE+ Switch (4 PoE+ Ports with 2 Ethernet Uplink
I purchased this POE switch to replace the one that I had that died recently. It connected my two WAPS into my network without any problems and works smoothy with my UniFi Network Server application management software. I recommend it to anyone who has network extender WAPS installed.

It just works!
When this BV-Tech 4 Port PoE+ Switch arrived it was smaller than I had imagined, but it works perfectly with the 2 POE IP cameras I plugged into it about 10 days ago. I have no idea how long it will last, but it's working fine right now, so hopefully it will keep working for a very long time. Even though I will only need 4 ports or less for the rest of this year, I was originally thinking about buying an 8-port unit in case I need more ports in the future. But this one comes with 2 regular ethernet ports in addition to the 4 POE ports, so I can daisy-chain another POE switch to this one if I need more capacity in the future. Having two separate units also lets me place them at opposite ends of the house -- for shorter cable runs to my cameras -- so I think that this 4-port unit was the correct choice for my particular needs at this time.

Use with Ring Stick-up Cameras, and life is good!
I looked at many PoE injectors, and decided for $34 this is the best option. I initially purchased just one PoE camera, but this switch allows me to add three more by simply running the ethernet cable. What more could you ask for? This switch has a PoE+ port on the first plug, and all four plugs will run at PoE standard power levels. If you need PoE+ you probably cannot use all four, it will limit you to one or two more standard PoE plugs, because it has a maximum power output. There is a switch for Default, and Extended. If you need to run longer than 300 feet you can switch to extended, it will reduce the bandwidth of the PoE ports to 10Mbps, and increase the power, so that it can run longer cables safely. I don't recommend this, just try to use the 300 feet limit, and the default setting and you will be fine. If you have to go longer, I suggest you but another of these, or an individual injector. Then, use 300 feet cable segments with switch/hubs to reach you destination at full speed. My house is all 1000Mbps ethernet. I connect the PoE switch to one of the ports and it runs at 100Mbps with the switch. There are two uplink ports on the switch, not sure why you need it, but you could connect two networks to this, if you so desired. If you are buying a single camera, I suggest skipping the single PoE injectors and getting this. You then have the option of adding three more cameras without needing another injector. The 100Mbps is more than enough bandwidth for the cameras, they usually need about 2Mbps each. Most single injectors are $19. This is $34 and gives you 4 standard PoE injectors with one optionally running PoE+. This is a great deal, and a good choice. Be smart and plan ahead, that is what I did. I just ordered additional cameras today, and I am very glad I purchased this, because I don't need to get more injectors, just need the camera and ethernet cables to hook it up.

Works beautifully for activating IP Cameras
Of course I only needed this item to activate IP cameras, but it works perfectly for the task. I noticed the web address that comes up with the SADP software isn't anywhere close to the one in the manual for activation and I wondered if this unit actually gives another address, but I really can't answer that. All I do know is accessing the web using the one given in the book that came with the IP camera didn't work at all, even after resetting the IP camera itself. For those of you who aren't computer savy when it comes to NVR's and web addressing - GET HELP! I am computer savy and it's been one big pain in the rear to deal with to get a new IP camera to work with my system, but This box saves the day! I am sure glad I purchased this just for this task. The SADP software sees the camera right away, and you can re-address it for your system and it WORKS! Extremely happy to have purchased!

I keep on buying them... they are simply great.
I don’t write reviews often, but I do heavily rely on them, so I guess it’s just fair that I start sharing and praising when praise is due. I bought three or four of these BV switches, already lost count that’s how much I like them. I bought the 5 ports and one 10 port. The 8 port has a fiber optic port which I cannot use for my setup, but it’s probably really useful for future upgrades. These switches have a very sturdy feel to them, the DIN mount on the 10 port is awesome for once I wall mount parts of my system. I use them for an NVR system and like others said here, from day one, plug and play no issues whatsoever. The 802.3at standard adds piece of mind with an extra high power port for that price, I simply cannot find a better deal out there. I am just about to order two more of these. Great job BV-Tech, thank you.

Rugged, Great Price
The throughput is smooth and balanced.. It is as good as "name brand units" at 1/3 of the cost. I am an integrator and have used multiple POE+, POE and switches in harsh environments. This is a deal!!

PoE+ port, second uplink port
I bought this for the PoE+ feature to be able to power other PoE device downstream. No issues. I like that it has a second uplink port .
