I’m so glad I decided to buy this wire. I was previously using a cheap wooden one, and it was much more stiff than this mudtools one. This one is way more flexible and cuts my pieces right off the bat with no struggle. Love it

If you’re having trouble with the standard wooden handled cutoff tools it’s probably that tool. I bought this without trying someone else’s first but I’m glad I did because it’s soooo much easier to use. The wire is an upgrade over the standard and the plastic handles help me maintain a steady grip so I’m able to cutoff evenly. It’s also very satisfying to use to cut clay off the block.

Yes, you can wait for the clay to pop off the bat. Or you can use this cutoff tool that I have now repurchased three times over the past 10 years. I trust it, the handles help you from slicing through your skin when the piece is stuck. You always have a great grip. 100% recommend adding to your tool kit.

After breaking several wood-ended wire cutters, I decided to invest in this. And WOW, I should have sooner! I can tell the quality of the wire is great because it never deforms and stays intact. I haven't noticed any wear on the plastic end pieces where the wire comes out... but I'll update my review if anything changes. LOVE this product and would highly recommend it to any ceramic artist!

in the description it said: Well suited for a 13" wheel-head, total length is approximate 15″ but may vary slightly. This was not clear because I presumed total meant that the wire and the handles total was 15 inches. I also believed because it was the green handle that it was color coded for length. I believed the actual measurement of the wire would be around 10 inches because a previously purchased green handle mud tools wire was actually 9 inches of wire. That is not the case. This wire is actually 15 inches plus the handles. If you are wanting a short one, (as I was) then this is not the one you want

I like the plastic handles. It helps me glide the cutter through the clay. These are a great value.

I love how the curly detail makes a difference to the bottom of my pottery pieces.

Seems like it will last longer than the one with the wood handles. Pleased so far!
