I have a Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB-BK turntable that came with green AT-VMN95E stylus. Sounded pretty good, but in the couple of years I have had it, I just found something a bit lacking. I didn't feel like I was getting as much detail as expected and it made listening to vinyl more of a physical, ritualistic experience than a sonically satisfying one. So, I read up on the Ortofon red and blue and settled on the blue as it seemed like the clear upgrade I may have been looking for. And, I am happy to say it was. Very easy to install the head shell and I weighted the tracking force to 1.8 as recommended and go to listening. It was an instant difference. The clarity and detail in playback was satisfying and made me happy with my purchase even before getting through side one of Jackson Browne's "Running on Empty". I am not an "audiophile", but I am an audio enthusiast that enjoys getting the most out of my music listening. So, if you are looking for an upgrade in your sound, do some research on the Ortofon 2M blue and pit it against your current stylus/cartridge/head shell. 5 star recommendation from me! Review: Easy to install and huge upgrade!! - Bought this back in June and finally had the time to set it up. Was a breeze to set up. And the sound quality difference is AMAZING. If I ever buy a new turntable I will definitely be replacing the stylus immediately to the Ortofon 2M Blue. Love it! ## Features - Ortofon 2M Red mounted on the SH-4 Black headshell - For easy and direct mounting on S-shaped tonearms with universal mount - Correct Baerwald alignment for tonearms with universal holder - Replaceable replacement needle with the possibility of upgrading - Plug & Play has never been easier ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0C1HBNPK7 | | Best Sellers Rank | #3,428 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #18 in Turntable Cartridge Needles | | Body Material | Hopelex | | Brand | Ortofon | | Brand Name | Ortofon | | Color | red | | Connector Type | Pins | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 518 Reviews | | Item Dimensions | 2.56 x 1.89 x 1.3 inches | | Item Weight | 16.7 g | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 2.56 x 1.89 x 1.3 inches | | Manufacturer | Ortofon | | Material | Plastic, Metal, Diamond | | Model Name | 2M Red | | Model Number | 2M Red Premounted | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Part Number | DJE0008321-000 | | Set Name | 2M | | Warranty Description | 2 years. | ## Images ![2M Red Premounted 2M Red Pickup Mounted on SH-4 Black Headshell - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61u6uOOlJRL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Hi will this easily fit to an audio technica AT-LP120USB turntable?** A: Hello, I actually returned this cartridge because I no longer needed it, but I think it is supposed to fit on S shape tonearms, and the LP120 is one of those. Hope that helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ortofon 2M Blue: An instant upgrade for my listening experience! *by W***. on June 8, 2026* What a difference this stylus made to the sound of my albums! Was a breeze to set up. And the sound quality difference is AMAZING. If I ever buy a new turntable I will definitely be replacing the stylus immediately to the Ortofon 2M Blue. Love it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended for the true audiophile *by M***L on May 17, 2026* I went from the Red stylus directly to the Bronze cartridge because I previously went from the stock 10 stylus to the 30 and I heard no improvement in sound. This by far is the best that I have personally heard vinyl records sound. I wasn’t a big fan but my son bought me the turntable as a Christmas gift a few years back. Keep in mind the only reason for the upgrade is because I keep accidentally breaking the stylus needles while cleaning the player . The sound quality is absolutely amazing compared to what I’ve been hearing. Set up was easy and there is also an included tool to help you with the tracking settings . The included head looks great and feels like better quality than the original. I can’t believe how much the sound has improved. Highly recommended upgrade. ## Frequently Bought Together - Ortofon 2M Red Premounted 2M Red Pickup Mounted on SH-4 Black Headshell - Neoteck Digital Turntable Stylus Force Scale Gauge 0.01g/5.00g Blue LCD Backlight for Tonearm Phono Cartridge - Hudson Hi-Fi Turntable Phonograph LP Phono Cartridge Stylus Alignment Protractor Tool–High Contrast (VTA Sold Separately) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fr/products/540509086-2m-red-premounted-2m-red-pickup-mounted-on-sh-4](https://www.desertcart.fr/products/540509086-2m-red-premounted-2m-red-pickup-mounted-on-sh-4) --- *Product available on Desertcart France* *Store origin: FR* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
