These are good snowshoes. I'm relatively light but I needed larger snowshoes to carry around a heavy pack in pretty deep snow so I got these. They do everything I need them to and the build quality is excellent. Very well put together and good materials so I expect these to last me many years. They're rather heavy, but that's a trade-off I was expecting when I got larger than necessary snowshoes. They're pretty easy to get on and off and are comfortable to walk around in. The flip up riser thingy is a bit of a pain to use so it's only worth putting up if you're climbing steep mountains, it's also very thin and seems flimsy so you'll need stiff soled boots to comfortably use them, mine haven't broken yet though and I don't think they will any time soon. The foot pivot is really good and they tighten down nicely so they're plenty comfortable on long hikes as long as you have good boots. As long as they're tightened down correctly and broken in a bit you should have no problem with them rubbing/wearing down boots. In extreme cold the plastic gets stiff and they're really hard to get on, impossible with thick gloves, but the plastic is durable and the price is good so I don't mind. The built in crampons are really nice in packed snow, but if you're climbing anything steeper than about 40 degrees in deep snow you're better off taking them off because you'll just slide down, if you have ropes it shouldn't be much of a problem though. Overall great product, would recommend to a friend/buy again. Very good price for the quality.

2022 update: used these again a couple months ago for a 6-mile hike through 1ft of fresh powder in northern Minnesota with my wife (girlfriend at the time of original purchase. I'm so happy I took a gamble on this company when they were just starting out. These snow shoes are still fantastic.Original: I purchased the larger pair for me and the smaller size for my girlfriend a few months ago. I did a lot of research before making the purchase, even looking at top brands. At the end of it all, I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a pair that is made out of the same materials with the same dimensions.We have used these about 10 times already this past winter in Minnesota with 2-9 feet of snow. I'm 6' 3" and these did a great job at keeping me about the snow (though I did sink a little in fresh powder, that'll happen with any brands). The heal stand was surprisingly a great feature to have, especially when walking up steep hills. The sawtooth design also gives the shoes that extra grip needed in various kinds of snow.I wouldn't classify these as beginners shoes because they are a tad bit heavier than those that cost hundreds of dollars or because they're less money. You shouldn't have to spend an extreme amount of money for quality. With these snowshoes, you don't have to. They're incredibly durable and make hikes through the Minnesota steeper hills a breeze.If you're worried about any added weight, go to the gym more often and get rid of those chicken legs.I recommend these snowshoes to absolutely anyone who wants to get into the sport or who has already been in it for a while. They're going to last you for a long time.

Let me start by saying that I have never been snowshoeing before.I found the shoes to be fairly light, given the price point. I liked the appearance and overall look. A few times when I went off trail the snow was 18"+ deep and I did get quite a workout. I noticed that trying to get my foot back out, I had to bring it almost straight up because it was a challenge to 'plow' out of the hole. This made my hip flexors quite tender the next day.I struggled the most with the straps. In theory, the quick lock and snaps look great but I didn't find them to be amazing. Both of my front straps came loose a few times on our trek. When I'd adjust them the black lever (unlock) wouldn't release so I had to tug at the straps. Perhaps they need to be 'broke in'?The width. It seemed that the rest of my group had shoes that, when installed, their foot was closer to the inside than the Wildhorne's. While this doesn't sound like an issue, when I would walk on more packed snow (from the folks in front of me), I kept stepping on myself. In the WH's, your feet are in the dead center of the shoe so if you put them side by side, your legs are slightly spread apart in a unnatural feeling. I had to remind myself to walk a bit wider.Overall, pretty good. They are a keeper for me.

I bought these after my old pair broke after many years. The price looked great and I needed them quickly to go in my yard and shovel snow off of our roof, which I need to do several times each winter.I'm very glad I decided to give these a chance. The sizing is right for my height/weight and they fit great on a couple different pairs of boots. There is one strap that goes behind the foot and two that go over the front of the boot. This ensures a nice, dependable binding system that has been great and has a solid feel whether I'm in my yard or hiking up mountains. The front straps have a ratchet system to tighten them and I've had no problems operating them or coming loose.The materials used to make these snowshoes is high quality and has done a great job in snow and mixed terrain.The traction on the bottoms of these works great for general use and moderate to semi-steep trails. This is better than I was expecting, as these are not marketed or priced as more extreme mountaineering snowshoes.One could easily spend 2x to 3x more for snowshoes of this type and quality. These are a real bargain and well worth purchasing. I would buy these again.

The package was delivered earlier than expected which was great because I was going out of town and wanted to take them with me. These snowshoes are great! The strap behind the heel is a little tricky to get buckled to the right size because the plastic is so stiff, but that would be my only complaint. It didn’t really help that I was trying to adjust it in 20 degree weather either. The front straps are a piece of cake to adjust for a comfortable fit. Adjustments are also easy mid trek if you need to make any which is nice.I’m 6’0” 180 lbs and the 27” size has worked very well for me. I’ve had no problems hiking up steep hills in deep snow thanks to the lightweight design. These fit so much better than other snowshoes I’ve used in the past. They are comfortable for long treks and enable me to walk naturally. When you're done using them, the release is simple so that they come off quickly and with minimal effort. I’m buying my dad a pair of these as well. I definitely would recommend these.

I didn't know what to expect from snowshoes as this was my first purchase and use of them, but I can say that I was not limited by the quality of these shoes! Easy to strap in, toothed grips are solid, and the heal riser is super simple to use and is super helpful for inclines. I thought my gait would be way off by the width and length of the shoes, but I couldn't have been more wrong. It was also easy to do the u-turns and even step backwards in these.The only concern I had is with 3 of the 4 ratcheting straps - they fit my boot, but I felt they should be able to tighten at least one or two more clicks, but the grips just would just slide off the teeth of the strap not allowing for it to go tighter. I hope it doesn't create an issue when I put the shoes to some heavy use, but the practice run was fine.Also, the ratcheting straps could stand to be a bit longer. I couldn't imagine trying to feed the straps with gloves on! I think this product would also benefit from having a matching bag and trekking poles available for purchase!Overall, super impressed with these shoes. Hope they last a long while!!!

I recently bought these Wildhorn Sawtooth snowshoes, and I'm glad they came as quickly as they did. The day after they arrived it snowed over 18 inches. I was super stoked to get outside and try them out.Right out of the box you can tell they are a very sturdy construction. A buddy of mine had a different brand snowshoe break in half while he was using them in waist-deep snow just a couple weeks ago. You can tell these Wildhorn snowshoes are not going to break. Whatever they're made from feels like high-quality material. I worry about that kind of thing buying products online. Other first impressions include their overall cool aesthetic. The colors and designs on them are true to the photos. Also, it's difficult to tell from the photos, but there are spikes under the fore foot as well as a robust set of spikes under the heel plate. This is especially good for helping to prevent sliding when traveling downhill on slippery terrain. When traveling uphill the heel riser is simple to pop up, which relieves some tension on your calves.Once I got outside in the snow and strapped them to my feet I was pleased at how easily they fit to my boots. I recommend checking the heel strap length before you take them out, because it's a little less pliable when it gets cold. Even so, once I had them on my feet they were totally secure. The toe straps cinch down and keeps everything right in place. Once they're on you just forget about them and cruise. I was able to hike naturally and easily without thinking about my snowshoes. They do a great job keeping you afloat without getting in your way. I look forward to using them again.

Received these today after researching and scouring amazon for a set of budget snowshoes. Planning on taking these up a small mountain and will come back to update with my performance review. As for now I'll just give my impressions of the quality and construction and my intentions for buying these:Basically I wanted a decent shoe with features that would get me up small mountains for some winter hiking. These have aggressive toe and heel spikes and a step incline bar which is a plus. These seemed to have a nice binding system and an aluminum frame. I went with aluminum frame shoes because I could just see a plastic set falling apart trying to go up a mountain. While these do provide excellent features they do it on a budget. The frame is not one continuous piece and feeds into the plastic tail making a potential weak point. Almost everything on this except the toe assembly is riveted, but almost all seem to be. The rivets on the binding latches seem pretty loose and the colored plastic feels cheap and brittle. The heel "auto lock" is anything but auto locking. It is a spring loaded hole and peg "lock" that doesn't have any click or actual lock. I could not find a better set of shoes with the features these have for the price. Even if they don't end up being mountain worthy they still seem like a great snowshoe for flat trails. Ohhh and I don't agree with the weight requirements. If you weigh over 130lbs get the 27" shoes especially if you are carrying any gear. Will update after my first mountain hike!

Really enjoy these snowshoes. Very light, stays on top of the snow really well, and does not kick up any snow up behind me like some brands do. Used them around my neighbourhood, in the mountains and in provincial parks. Seems like you can use these in really any type of conditions. The only issue is the plastic clip that holds the rear stap around your ankle in place. One of the clips broke. Recommend putting metal clips on these shoes. Otherwise, your feet are solid in the shoe, straps remain tight.

Good quality and works as they should good grip in icy snow too...Carried a 15kg backpack with no issues
