Most cost-effective way to measure PH
I'm very happy with these. My friends will sometimes complain that the tapes don't last long enough. But this is because my friends pull-out a 4-inch strip each time they take a measurement. Personally, I cut a 1/2-inch strip and then dunk it with a pair of stainless steel tweezers. Works great. One roll of tape will last me almost six months. Also... each roll contains its own color chart. I don't need to worry about losing a separate card or other paper that has the color codes on it. And a roll of tape is cheap enough, that I don't get upset if I lose one. (Or if my friends "borrow" a roll.) What's not to like?

Not overly scientific but useful
Used to sample ph of soil after dilution with deionized water. My only complaint is they do not tell you how long to wait for make the read.

Very small and compact and seems to work!
They came on time and each spool was in a cardboard box and then both boxes were placed inside of a sturdy plastic zip lock bag. The spool of ph paper is wrapped inside of the case with some sort of aluminum covered type of paper. I presume this is to protect the ph paper until you receive it and are ready to use it. To open the case and unwrap the ph paper I just slightly twisted and pulled apart the two pieces of the plastic casing to reveal and remove the wrapped spool of ph test paper then I reinserted the unwrapped ph test paper into the plastic case with the end of the ph test paper coming through the little slot on the case which then enables you to pull the desired length of ph test paper you require then you use the little serrated toothed edge on the case to help tear the piece of pH test paper off to use for testing. I performed a couple quick ph test using this product as you can see in the picture I provided it shows two longer yellowish strips one of those was used to test tap water and the other was used in spring water, the orangish colored test result strip was sweetened peach iced tea and the short little yellow test strip was saliva they all showed to be in the proper ph according to what google said they should be so I think it is safe to say they work! I will be using them when I make homemade skin care products as some of these items need to have their ph adjusted so they are not so harsh on the skin. It says each spool is 5 meters long I am actually surprised they did not appear to be that long and I have not measured them yet! But if they are indeed 5 meters each and if you used strips that are approximately an inch long you could get close to 196 ph test strips per spool! Which I think is an amazing deal for the price however I have not comparison shopped to be sure of this. I bought the 2 spool package since I was not sure of the quality and price and I was short on funds at the time. In the future I would probably order a larger package after I researched and determine how long the ph test strip paper is good for in storage and if it is actually the best deal. However these two spools may last me a lifetime with the amount of test I can perform depending on how easily it is to adjust the formulas I make... idk time will tell! I only make products for myself so I don't need these very often and they are only needed for certain formulas it all depends on the recipe and products that go into them if I need to check the ph levels and adjust them. Having the ph test paper now enables me to make formulas I have not been able to make and try in the past! So this is exciting! Knowing me I will probably also be testing all of the formulas I make even the ones that have claimed do not need to be tested and adjusted just to be sure they are correct! Trust no one and nothing! ;)

Handy great for group work in science labs
Perfect for use in a science classroom. Having multiple packs made it very easy for the students to use in groups. Allows for different size of strips needed as necessary!

Good for sanitizer
It's a handy test for phosphoric acid sanitizing solution (starsan) that just needs to peg the acid needle in the 0-3 range. I suspect it would not be very specific across the full range since there is only one test. For something the needs more precision like wine PH, I would use something different.

nothing more than dyed paper that will stain, don't bother
I bought this without looking at the 1-star reviews. The reviews I read and the video I watched lead me to believe it worked. I just had my water tested professionally and was interested in testing it myself, along with my filtered water, and other items I have. Don’t bother. It is nothing more than an orange dyed piece of paper that does not change color. I tried my kitchen faucet which I knew the reading, color did not change, and I knew it was not correct. Tried it on my expensive filtered water, which is Alkaline, same color. I then even tried it on my tongue like the person in the video, same color. I then sprayed a part with Windex, that did change color! But if you are testing the water, it did not change at all nor did it when I put it on my tongue. The pack was new and sealed properly so can’t even say it was an old batch. Would not buy, save your money. PS, it did stain my counter orange, that tells me all I need to know. Each strip I put down they all stained the counter the same orange tone.

Didn’t work
Purchased for a science project. The kids were to blow air with a straw into a cup of water and then test the ph and compare with a cup that had not. There was no difference when I put the test strip in. I tested it on a couple things and the change was slow. It’s just not very vibrant and maybe slow to use. I’ve made my own with purple cabbage before and they seemed to work better. Not sure if it was simply a failed experiment or faulty strips. But I did test the strips on other things and the performance was eh.

It's a pack of two
Did you know that pigeons mate for life? They're monogamous. And these litmus paper strips come in packs of two. Why? I only wanted one - think of the environment! Anyway, it's a good product, straightforward colour change on contact. I got it to check the pH of different soaps after my pharmacist told me the athletes foot spray doesn't work with alkaline soap - it needs acid soap. Super surprised that I've never heard this before but I gave it a go and really, it makes a huge difference. I'm only using acid soaps from now on. If you don't know, it's acid if the pH is less than 7, few soaps have a pH number on them but they don't explain pH or why you need to know it. I suppose you can use this for checking your soil pH if you want to grow roses and that. There must be other applications. I'll mull it over next time I'm on the highway and can't find a decent podcast.
