Its moderately comfortable, and I can wear these shoes for an entire day at work without issue. However, they are little stiff even after wearing them for about 6 mos and the cushioning could be better. I added in some Superfeet insoles for arch support and it definitely makes it more comfortable. Another plus is that is a replaceable rubber heel, so if it starts wearing out, its straight forward to get that replaced at your local shoe repair store. I love the design very simple but very classy. Rich in color and well constructed. I am v happy with them. When you are shopping for this shoe be sure to comparison shop they do vary in price substantially from $89 to $230 depending on sale price. The brwn pair i got for $89 and the blk for $122. I like the brwn so much went back on Amazon the next day and could only get it for $102, the price went up go figure but it was worth it, so bought it! Some chukkas feel and look awkward like a generic knock-off shoe. These have quality soles and love the rubber grip additions. Fit and finish is clean and the way it's put together looks great. Love wearing them with my slim jeans. They feel like a sturdy shoe. My first pair of Cole Haan chukkas. Previously had a pair of Cole Haan dress shoes with rubber sole that held up well except the metal support in the sole of the left shoe started making clicking noise at every step. That was annoying. Hoping these are made better.
