LIKE...A...CHARM!
Installed this today and it worked like a charm. Very easy job for anybody with minimal mechanical experience...if you've done a brake job, you can replace this solenoid. It looked exactly the same as the original and fit perfectly. Absolutely incredible value compared to $3000 job by Subaru or $1800 for the entire valve body with solenoids from Subaru. If I observe any problems, I will definitely update this review with details. So, if you don't see an update, then it's still working with no problems.

Saves a bundle of money!!!
My 2013 Subaru Crosstrek threw a P2764 TCC failure. As I understand it the dealer gets $800 for a new valve body and an extremely high labor charge when only one solenoid fails. I removed the valve body, which is on top of these transmissions and easily accessible, and replaced the solenoid myself. I’m a pretty decent mechanic though not a professional and difficulty was probably a level 5. YouTube is your friend with this repair. It also repairs P2763. I saved a a chunk using this. No problems since. This has the TR640 transmission.

P700 & P2764 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5L
Dorman 926-408 Torque Converter Lock-Up Solenoid Compatible with Select Subaru Models (OE FIX) Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc for $54.52 on March 14, 2025. 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5L 118,000 miles P2764 (torque converter clutch pressure control solenoid control circuit low) and P0700 (Transmission control system MIL Request). The so called "lockup solenoid". Stealerships charge between one and two grand to fix this or you can fix it yourself for less than $70. You choose. Took me a few hours, had it done before lunch and I'm 60 years old, first one I ever did. Worked perfect. Put a half quart CVT oil in to make up for the loss of the valve body. You can splurge and get a gasket for the top cover for $17, turns out I didn't even need it. And not that it is necessary but you can change the transmission oil for 12 quarts with the filter (through the bottom) get a gasket and a Mityvac MVA6851 (fill through side plug) for less than $300 (oil is $10 a quart or more). Stealership replaces entire valve body instead of just one lousy $55 solenoid valve. Stealership doesn't sell just the solenoid. But they will charge you $12 a piece for the two o-rings or you can get 500 here on amazon for $9 you choose. M2.4mm thickness x 12.3mm ID x 17.1mm OD (M2.4x12.3) Viton O-Ring, 75A Durometer. The TR580 transmission has the transmission valve body up top. The TR580 is used on the "small engine" subaru's ie the 2.5L non turbo. Plenty of videos out there showing how to do it. It's the solenoid on the end near the ground wire. Replacing the whole valve body for one solenoid is like buying a new car for a flat tire. Thanks to Dorman and Amazon for stocking this part.

Works on 2012 Outback
Doorman’s site doesn’t say it works on a 2012 Outback. It does.

This is The One
This little guy saved me about $3000 dollars in repair. I would 100% recommend purchasing this and replacing that solenoid yourself if you have the tools and confidence for the task

Do not recommend
I had gotten this in September it was working for a little bit, and now the lights keep coming on and I have to keep resetting my computer. Guess I'm going to have to order the part from a parts store and get it put in again when it gets a little warmer out.

Still working after four months for thousands less than the dealer.
I diagnosed my wife's subaru with a bad lock up solenoid. The dealer will only sell the entire control module ($2K), not the individual solenoid. The job removing the control module, replacing the solenoid, and putting everything back together isn't too bad for a reasonably competent shade tree mechanic with some tools and for thousands less. It fits like the original but obviously not as well built as the original it replaced (4 stars vs 5), but is still working four months later (others have stated they can fail after a few months, we'll see). In the interim I fixed the original solenoid in case this one fails prematurely. Would recommend for someone handy, probably not a job for a beginner.

It worked. P2764 and P0700 are gone from my 2013 Crosstrek
It took about 2 hours to install the part into my 2013 Crosstrek. After installing did a transmission relearn with an Autel 508 and the car now drives as it should. All the lights in the cluster went out. Drove the car about 200 miles and there are no pending mil codes. Saved quite a bit of money by just replacing the solenoid vs the whole valve body. I believe I have less than $100 in parts in the repair. I could have gotten away with reusing the gasket and 2 o rings as they were in good shape. If you have basic mechanical skills and access to YouTube you can knock this out in your driveway. Transmission shifts normally now.

It works perfectly. My car transmission has been working great since I installed it 6 months ago.
