Took a chance, and it paid off!
Years ago, I purchased a papasan chair from Pier 1, which has since gone out of business. The chair had separate pieces - - the stand, bowl, and of course, a cushion. Though the stand and bowl were not attached in any way, I never had any problem with the bowl moving or slipping while I was sitting down into the chair, getting up out of it, or moving around once in it (and I say "in" it, rather than "on" it, because, being a smaller human being, I am normally fairly cocooned in any chair this size and shape). I only recently needed to replace the chair, so I looked for similar styles to the one I'd purchased at the now defunct Pier 1. I tried a chair from a popular chain similar to that one, and while the bowl and stand were beautiful, and the cushion soft and gorgeous, the slippage was ludicrous! The moment I sat down in the chair, the bowl slid lavishly until I was inevitably and invariably left in a completely prone position, staring at the ceiling. Thinking it must be a fluke (the Pier 1 model never did this, for heaven's sake!), I tried a similar papasan from yet another popular home decor and furnishings retail store, and this time had to drive 45 miles to the location that actually had the chair in stock. Again - - beautiful chair. And again - - whoosh!! I'm staring at the ceiling. P.S. (Yes, of course I tried the floor model of the chair in each of these stores before purchasing, and I don't know what kind of voodoo they used, but the floor models don't slip...and when you receive the chair you've purchased, it's generously wrapped in flexible, protective cardboard pieces, so doesn't slip...that is, until you get it home and remove the cardboard.) I'd looked at several well-reviewed papasan chairs at Amazon, but had resisted purchasing one online (even with Amazon's excellent returns policies), because what a pain in the butt to repackage and ship back something that large! And without a brick and mortar where I could go try it out first, how to gauge how comfortable it would be? Sure, there are the reviews, but everyone's preferences and builds are different. I did a ton of research, comparing, reading, thinking...and finally landed on this chair. I'd read the minor complaint from one reviewer that the angle of the bowl can't be changed, and that gave me slight pause, but the angle (at least from the pictures) appeared to be about where I'd always placed the bowl of my papasan chair. Also, the frame wasn't the color I wanted (most of my furniture is a light, natural-toned wood), and another reviewer had mentioned that the cushion was a bit rough or scratchy. None the less, the reviews (and my gut instinct) about the chair were so overwhelmingly positive that I decided to give it a try, and am I ever glad I did! The angle of the bowl is perfect for sitting up and reading or for taking a nap. The cushion, yes, is not microsuede like so many are, but is by no means scratchy or rough, and is very nicely thick and plush. The swivel feature is a bonus I didn't know I wanted or needed, but now I'll probably never want another papasan without that feature, and the chair was reasonably easy to assemble by myself (again, as a smaller than average human in her late 50's). Again, everyone's different - - but I am 100% pleased with this chair (for comfort, aesthetics, and value for the price), and grateful for the other reviews that prompted me to buy it.

Easy to build, very comfortable!
The assembly is very simple and took about 20 minutes. The chair base is strong and the 360 swivel works. The cushion is very comfortable and padded, so you cannot feel the frame of the chair through the cushion.

Comfortable and nice looking
This chair is super comfortable. I would highly recommend this economics version. It was a little bit more steps to put together, but is worth it seems to be pretty well made and a reasonable price. I really like how it looks.

Comfortable and stylish but cushion disappointing
When we took this out of box we were so excited. The color was great. The cushion was huge and looked plush. Set up was easy and once we put the cushion on I took a seat. Very very comfortable and large enough to tuck your legs into. But!!! I could feel the frame beneath the seat. We finally had to add an extra thick piece of foam under cushion and on top of frame but for the price, i wanted better. I know the cushion is not long for this world :)

Everyone’s favorite chair in the house!!!
We love this chair!! It swivels nicely and can support/fit both me and my fiancé lol. We are always fighting over who gets to sit in this chair when we watch tv together!! lol. It’s very very comfy with great support and lounging. I’d recommend having a foot stool or table nearby to rest your feet, because it feels weird putting your feet on the ground (however, this may just be because we’re both short). Excellent value for the money, great build quality and padding. Pain in the a** to install, buuuut we tried to make it as fun as possible. Came with extra screws and all the necessary tools for assembly in nicely labeled baggies with an instruction manual, took us about 30-45 mins to put together. Color is true to the picture as posted in the description, as you can see by my pic!! :D 5 stars

I love this chair!
First of all it really came in 3 separate sections to work on if that, it took a little less than 30 minutes to set up, super simple and all the bits and pieces were there so bonus points for that, it’s super sturdy and comfy as well! And a great price, I’d definitely buy it again!

Exactly What I Was Hoping For!
I am absolutely thrilled with this wicker chair! Putting it together was straightforward, and I was honestly shocked at how perfectly the cushion matches my bed frame. It looks like it was made to go together. The quality feels great, it is comfortable, and it adds such a lovely touch to my space. Highly recommend!

Comfortable, easy to put together, but does not support 400 pounds.
I bought this chair back in January 2024... and I had one of the metal pipes under the cushion snap yesterday. I weigh a little under 300 pounds, use the chair regularly, but apparently do not get out of the chair "the right way" as the broken pipe was under where my legs normally are. The cushion also tends to slip from the top of the circle holding it if you do not tie it in the correct spots, which means you're suddenly resting your head on metal with rattan covering it. Not the most comforting feeling. As for the positives, as the title states, the chair is relatively comfortable (although with all papasan chairs, you get zero back support so do not use this as a work/office/gaming chair) and was easy enough to construct. However, two of the screws holding the two halves of the back together were stuck in their holes because they were twisting freely (see: no threading) but were held in place by a nut and washer... which also spun with the screw. This made disassembly close to impossible without a pair of locking pliers, and due to the space constraints, it had to be a pretty small pair. Use this information as you will. There are people this chair will be perfect for, but for my purposes, absolutely not.

I bought this for my daughter to put on her balcony (along with a cover) and she loves it. Loves that it swivels too. It’s well made.

Love this chair got 2 for my balcony and it was really good quality very comfy. I saw a lot of reviews saying you can feel the bars when u sit on the cushion but I can’t at all. Although I am quite light I’m 5’2 and 130lbs so maybe if your heavier the cushion might feel thinner but I love it, also was easy to put together did it myself. And the company was so nice to deal with I had one issue and I reached out to them and heard back extremely fast and got help!

I could not be more happy with this chair. I honestly didn’t have high expectations because it was one of the cheapest papasan chairs I could find and I was mostly ordering it for the looks, but it arrived today (literally 2 days after I ordered it) and I am thrilled. It is made of high quality material, looks and feels expensive, and oh my god, the cushion - it is the softest thing I have ever sat on. It must be made of squishmallow material or something because it feels like sitting on a cloud. It is big enough that I can cross my legs in it and curl up in it, and it rotates so cleanly and easily, but not too easily. We put it together in 10 minutes, it was only 3 pieces. I was worried about being able to feel the frame through the chair so I had already bought a seat cushion but I won’t even be needing it. Above and beyond, especially for the price. If you’re thinking about buying, pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed. I might just order another for our living room.

Looks great, easy to assemble, but the cushion is very thin, can feel every bar in the frame. I have put 3 layers of cardboard under seat part of cushion and another cushion under the cushion, still feel the frame but if I put a throw on the seat its tolerable. Not the most comfortable chair, but looks great.
