I looked at the old ones I had and the new ones I bought. The only differences: the band around the waist is larger on the new ones and the country they were made in is different. Old ones made in Viet Nam, New ones made in Thailand. Apparently country does matter. Can not return underware. They feel more durable, but they're also soft and comfortable. Just looking at the stiches you can tell that they're better made than the 5 packs you might get at the big-box store. My only complaint is that, at least in my opinion, they run a bit large. I'm a 33 waste and the medium fits, but I find it to be a bit billowy.
