DieHard 71341 Gold 250A Wheeled Battery Charger & Engine Starter

The production was supposed to be at DieHard Gold and it came back a die-hard something else other than that it's okay I don't understand why you guys didn't send the right order though

So far this product has performed excellently. I bought it for jump starting my 1933 Austin 7, which has a 6v system. This is not a top grade professional use product but an advanced piece of equipment for domestic use, that is reflected in the price and I would say it's excellent value for money. The company who supplied it were incredibly helpful and were more interested in customer satisfaction than making a sale. As I am in England I have to use a transformer with it but it works perfectly and I highly recommend both the charger/jump starter and the company who supplied it. I am really pleased I bought it.

The handle and display is poor design, not what you would expect for a $200.00 diehard battery charger. The unit is supposed to have reversed polarity protection but it don't work. When I put it in boost mode it never put out any current to a battery that was at 10 volts, the cooling fan came on but I held a volt meter to it and it never started charging. I read and followed the instructions but it just did not do what it claims to do. Never tried the boost start feature, I learned enough just trying to charge a battery. The electronics in this unit is very poor design,JUNK! The scrolling display consists of technology used 30 years ago. They could very easily use an LCD display and make it much nicer unit.

It is a pretty decent rapid automatic charger. However, there exists one big problem that Die Hard should have figured out. The two battery terminal clamps (red and black) of this charger are too big for some of the cars out there which have tight battery area spaces which require a much smaller clamp.

I purchased this charger with boost capability to replace the old one at the farm that had stopped working. I primarily use it to start the big John Deere tractor for clearing snow on those cold days. The boost works really well, especially when cycling the glow plug on the 6 cylinder Diesel engine.

Great unit. Had to exchange my first unit. It was damaged during shipping. Second one charged my deep cycle batteries well. Got what I paid for ....the second try lol
