Mongoose Boy's Inline Skates

I have never posted a negative review on Amazon, so that's saying something. Both my son and I really disliked these rollerblades. He is new to blading, so when he initally tried them out at our local roller rink, I had thought his complaints were based on his lack of ability. However, his two main complaints were: lack of support throughout the boot and the "slippery" wheels. I had him take them off, I rented him another pair and I myself put on these blades (he and I have comparable shoe sizes). I quickly realized he wasn't being dramatic, nor were his two main complaints based upon lack of ability. If you notice, this blade only has one strap across the foot, whereas it's common for roller blades to have two across top of foot. Yes, there are laces but no matter how tight I tied the laces and strapped the velcro strap, it was easy for my ankles to roll from side to side in these blades, in that the foot was more like a shoe as compared to a firm boot. Also, the wheels must be plastic and truly are slippery and hard to skate on. I'd really discourage anyone from purchasing these.

Kinda flimsy like a tennis shoe and not snug light a skate. My son wears a size 6 in youth and they were way to big and loose.

These are great! I got them for my kiddo's birthday (11 year old boy) and I *love* that the shoe size is adjustable. Anyone with kids knows just how quickly their feet can grow, and the fact that these are a high quality item and will grow with him for at least a few years. They're a great quality for the price and look stylish while still being very functional. Now if I could just get him off them for long enough to clean his room...

The skate itself is fine the wheels and bearings are crap wheels are hard PVC plastic replace with good bearing and urethane Wheels you have a pretty good set of skates

I bought these as a birthday present for my son and he has loved them since March. They get used a few times a month and he's very happy to have his own skates when we go to roller rink birthday parties.

My boys love these, I'm glad that they can grow with them. It was fun watching them learn how to skate and provided many laughs! We had a a blast with it. They tightened good around the ankles. They were a little hard to get the clasps open, but you can also loosen the tighteners without undoing them all the way to get feet out.

Purchased these for my 10 year-old son who had outgrown his pair of Roller Derby brand adjustable inline skates. We were extremely disappointed with the quality of these Mongoose skates! There was no trouble with the adjustable sizing, but when it came to skating, my son couldn't make turns without slipping on our driveway cement. The wheels are like cheaply made hard plastic, supplying very little traction for turning. He is very experienced on inline skates and also plays hockey, and has never had problems with falling on his other skates. Perhaps we just happened to purchase a "lemon," but I would certainly not recommend these to anyone else. Will be purchasing a different brand.

Great boots. If you plan on using these at the rink order wheels for indoor. The wheels they come with are outdoor use only they Will slide on a smooth surface.

Exactly as described. Great looking pair of kids beginner blades, just have to wait until Christmas to see what the kids think.
